Crayola LLC - Easton, PA Manager, Information Systems 2007-2008 The colorful, creative, innovate and privately held CPG firm of Hallmark with revenues of $550M > Audited and led efforts to redesign point-of-sale systems to comply with new PCI regulations prior to their release. > Assisted in the RFP process, evaluating hosted datacenter options from select vendors for the construction and support of a complete SAP system, compared to an in-house system and the ROI of each. > Managed contracts to minimize costs and sunset the mainframe and all associated software in a timely fashion as the company moves to SAP. > Restructured the Help Desk to a more ITIL centric Service Desk model, collaborating with Application Development to usher in true Change Control and SDLC methodologies. > Brought in several green initiatives to the data center including: the use of Virtualization to eliminate 3 full racks of equipment, and began replacing existing racks with more energy efficient racks and PDU's strategically placed in the datacenter for optimal power and cooling efficiency.
Teleflex Inc. - Limerick, PA Manager of Databases and Disaster Recovery Planning 2000-2007 Global diversified manufacturer and engineering company with revenues exceeding $2.5B >Established the first formalized DR (disaster recovery) plan for the corporate data center, covering over 100 application servers, and a VPN infrastructure that connects over 100 manufacturing sites globally. >Established a common DR implementation framework, with templates, and provided training, for over 50 data centers globally to follow in order for them to be rolled into a global BC (business continuity) plan. >Established the business case, and implemented the first HA (highly available) system utilizing internal resources. >Strategic planning recommendations submitted for a database architecture that could support the SLA's established with the business during DR and BC planning. >Successfully managed the first DR test of the corporate data center, and changed plans and systems accordingly. >Challenges include the strategic planning efforts that would support the consolidation of 50+ datacenters to 4-6 within the next two years, and application consolidation of 23 current ERP systems, down to 5 or less.
Teleflex Inc. - Limerick, PA HRIS Project Manager 2003-2005 Sermatech International, a Teleflex Company - Limerick, PA 2000-2003 An Aerospace manufacturer and division of Teleflex with revenues of $500M >Beginning my management career with Sermatech, the successful completion of consolidating 12 different, non-integrated HRIS and Payroll systems to 1 central system, led to a promotion for the entire team to the parent company, Teleflex. >Established a common conversion framework utilizing proven processes and procedures, which could be completed internally for any acquisition, and their integration into the system, in less than 60 days. >Successfully managed over 35 conversion projects of all North American business units, with separate tax identities and systems, and an additional 22 application development initiatives to the central system. >Managed an internal Corporate HRIS conversion/support team of 5, and cross-functional project teams of 10-30. >Submitted justification for, and operated an annual budget for these projects, ranging from $500K to $1 million. >Upon completion of the integration of all North American business units, spearheaded the automated interfacing of all Benefits vendors and enabling for the first time, automated online open enrollment. >Annual ROI for the 4-year plan was estimated to be $500k, with the project completed, and hard savings achieved 1 year ahead of plan. >Soft savings continue to easily outweigh that number annually with the addition of Benefits interfacing. >In 2004, restructured operations to support SOX initiates well ahead of schedule. >This led to supporting Internal Audit with their preliminary SOX audits of other sites globally, and recommendations for change at each site that I also helped to implement.
