Description:
The project is for enterprise company to replace their Traditional Circuit switch telephony system with a new Packet switched telephony system, which supports voice over IP network and scalable call processing architecture. The system, called Cisco Call Manager support inter-operability between packet switched and circuit switched services. The system achieves these goals by interoperating different telephony protocols like H.323, SIP, SCCP, ISDN PRI, and MGCP etc.
Responsibilities:
I was involved in installing the Cisco Call Manager in Windows machines and verify different kind of call features with all the connected components, which include different type of gateways and IP Phones. I was involved in the testing for the following function
1. Setting up the network topology
2. Setting up the layer 2 and layer 3 connections with Cisco switches and router.
3. Design Test Plan: I was involved in writing the detailed test plan with reference to customer requirement document
4. Designing Test Bed: I was involved in designing the test bed to execute the test scenario which involved in determining the topology, equipments, test tools, software etc.
5. Execution of Test Plan: we need to follow the procedure given in the test plan to execute the test and then review the result by looking into the messages from trace file.
6. Different call features: Verify the different call features like call forward, transfer, conference, and etc in IP Telephony.
7. Upgrade the call manager and do the regression test cases
8. Installation of Cisco call manager form the scratch.
