Manage product design and development of all new products for hearing protection industry.

Provide direction to optimize product development from creative idea to production with a strategic intent of delivering high quality products to market. Account for project viability, commercialization strategies, trial design, marketing strategies, and related issues working with an interdisciplinary team of R&D, engineering professionals, sales/marketing, QA staff, and production managers.

Medical Product Development

Create new ideas for next-generation safety products for industrial hearing protection meeting a yearly revenue projection of $70 million and growing:

* Introduced two or three new products at tradeshows every year.
* Ear muff and earplug products have proven #1 in market share over leading competitor.
* Created Laser-Trak hearing protection for food industry; Invented SmartFit, the new material technology earplug that takes the shape of the human ear canal.
* SmartFit and Laser-Trak currently on exhibit in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

New Product Development Engineer

Managed cross-functional roles for a small, but expanding growing company. Provided strategic direction and hands-on management of research projects. Introduced AutoCad as a prototype tool. Worked directly with President of company.

Developed new products from concept to commercialization using injection molding, injection blow molding and other forms of plastic manufacturing technology to create medical diagnostic devices for major medical clients, such as Bristol Myers, 3M, Kodak Medical and Idexx Laboratories.

* Project went from idea to production in less than 6 months.
* Idexx product received great reviews in the market that resulted in adding Bristol Myers and 3M to client list.

SIEMENS INFUSION SYSTEMS, Los Angeles, California - Medical Industry. 1989 - 1993

Manager, International Product Development

Focus of position was two-fold (1) organize and coordinate an International Product Development Team and (2) meet criteria of TUV (Germany's approval agency equivalent to FDA).

* Managed development of German and French Language Software.
* Oversaw each process from quality assurance of a fail/safe board for Infusion Pump to packaging the product for a global market.
* Provided strategic direction and daily oversight moving all aspects of the project forward with skilled people management. Built understanding and cooperative environment with outside relationships as well as internal teams that was key to launching this product.

Awarded three patents for Siemens in IV Pump Innovation.

JENSEN INDUSTRIES, Los Angeles, California - Consumer Products. 1986 - 1989

Manager, New Product Development

Managed R&D, competitive analysis, pricing, and production costs for this division of Nortek, a Fortune 500 Member Manufacturing company developing housewares for homeowners. Company's annual revenue - $20 million.

* Created a modular exhaust hood product line for transporation (RV) vehicles.
* New product design replaced six outdated models and the new product line reduced production cost 22%.
