Client: M & T Bank Project: Bank Imaging/Workflow Role: Senior Project Manager /Business Analyst 12/07 -- present
Working with M & T Bank in the capacity of Project Manager/Business Analyst. In this role I am responsible for functional specifications, test script creation and the initial testing of the imaging and workflow system. I am working with the business users to help them develop business requirements for departmental imaging and workflow needs. In addition, I am contributing strategic input for enterprise direction of imaging and workflow projects. This company utilizes FileNet P8 for storage, retrieval and workflow, as well as Kofax software for capture of scanned documents, fax and email.
Client: Fifth Third Bank Project: Imaging Program -- Phase 1 Role: Senior Project Manager 10/07 -- 12/07
Worked with Fifth Third to develop and establish best practices for their imaging and workflow program. Developed streamlined project management procedures specific to imaging and workflow to improve project cycle delivery times. Deliverables for this project included an operations assessment, a technical assessment, as well as specific templates and methodologies using FileNet and Kofax software. In addition, we developed an improved delivery model using offshore resources from India. Helped establish on-boarding procedures and expectations of the Indian resources working onsite for three months at a time.
Senior Project Manager for a new installation of Kofax Indicius. The forms recognition component was used to classify, separate and index mortgage documents. This project required coordination with the infrastructure group as well as several business units. This project also developed several methods by which documents could be accepted by the mortgage company. Programming included the ability to receive documents by fax, electronic web upload, scanning, email and direct transfer from the Empower mainframe system. Documents that were received fed into a customized workflow system. Programming for this project used Java, .NET, Oracle and SQL.
Client: Suntrust Mortgage Project: Imaging for Mortgage Post Close Role: Program Manager 07/04 - 03/07
Program Manager for a large installation of custom off-the-shelf workflow software. This project required integration with FileNet, Kofax Ascent Capture and several Oracle and SQL databases. I managed several teams during the SDLC including Requirements Gathering, Design, Development, Testing and Role Out phases of the project. This project had a budget of 6 million dollars and will result in a total reduction of over $20 million of reduced overhead expense during the next 5 years. During this project utilizing Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) was introduced and became mandatory in all PMO based projects. Programming for this project included VB, Java, Oracle and SQL.
Client: PMI Mortgage Company Project: Imaging and Workflow Project Role: Senior Project Manager 03/04 - 07/04
I served as Senior Project Manager to design and implement custom software to improve the underwriting process at PMI. Installed FileNet, PLX (workflow software), and Kofax Ascent Capture software. This project allowed for a 50 percent improvement in underwriting efficiencies and the client was able to reduce contract underwriting by 50 percent. This system was distributed across the US and allowed distributed scanning and centralized indexing of documents.
Client: Tennessee Department of Safety Project: Electronic Imaging System Role: Senior Project Manager 06/03 - 01/04
I served in the capacity of Senior Project Manager for the Imaging component of this engagement. This system will provide electronic document access to all Department of Safety users throughout the entire state of Tennessee. The imaging system is directly integrated into the existing Department of Safety mainframe system, allowing users a common interface to retrieve and view images. Phases of this project included the gathering of requirements through the completion of the application including support. The primary software used this engagement included FileNET (Image Services and Capture Professional) using an Oracle database and uses customized VB screens.
Client: State of Maine -- Retirement System Project: Electronic Imaging System Role: Project Manager 02/03 - 05/03
I served in the capacity of Project Manager for this engagement. This system provides electronic document access to 132 users for a State Retirement System. A significant back file conversion was completed transforming microfiche to the Imaging system to allow access to archived documents. Phases of this project included the gathering of requirements through the completion of the application including support. The primary software used this engagement included FileNET (Image Services and Capture Professional) using an Oracle database.
Client: Washington Mutual Bank Project: Z State Workflow and Imaging Project Role: Project Manager 07/02 - 02/03
This system allows the centrally located Customer Service branch of the bank to streamline workflow operations for processing customer requests. A Capture system was also designed and implemented to allow capture of paper documents received by the Customer Service department. This system allows scanning of documents in multiple locations with all documents routing to the Central Office for processing located in Wisconsin. All documents are stored in California and available for use by all properly authorized divisions of the company. This application utilizes FileNET's Capture and eProcess products, as well as Crystal reports. The system was initially designed for 250 users and will eventually roll out to more than 1,000 users throughout the US.
Client: King County Judicial Administration Project: Electronic Filing System Role: Project Manager 12/01 -06/02
I worked to design and develop an electronic filing system to allow legal firms, and eventually the public, to file law suits electronically to the superior court system. The existing system allowed only manual paper filing at the courthouse site. The designed website included a variety of functionality, including compatibility with Netscape, Internet Explorer and ADA compliant Lynx browsers. Other features included conversion utilities to PDF format, Microsoft load balancing, clustered database protection, encryption for sealed court filings, and use of legal XML court filing standard 1.1. The pilot system was developed using FileNET software and initially served 200-300 users and will eventually roll out to become available for public use by more than 1.5 million people.
Client: Charter One Bank Project: Document Management Assessment Role: Senior Manager 07/01 - 10/01
I served as the Senior Manager responsible for assessing the viability of a Document Management system. This assessment included gathering requirements and interviewing users in three separate locations around the United States. Assessment goals were to select the appropriate document management vendor, determine total project cost, and to develop a thorough business case to confirm project viability. FileNET software was chosen by the client to be implemented in a multi-phased project spanning 12 months for the banking and mortgage portions of the company.
As the Project Manager, I worked to develop requirements and design a document management system to replace the Client's Central File Room. The designed system provided a powerful infrastructure to allow future expansion, and used Documentum content management capabilities that involved integration with six existing systems. Elements of Imaging, Content Management, Workflow and COLD were all used to maximize the system's efficiency to provide thin client access to more than 1,000 users.
Client: Washington Department of Labor & Industry Project: Online Reference System Role: Senior Project Manager 07/00 - 03/01
I was integral in installing an online reference system that combined FileNET content management capabilities and Enigma's Insight publication software. The system eliminated the need for reference manuals used by more than 1,200 employees by storing manuals centrally on the FileNET system, allowing employee access through the Client's intranet web browser. Users can “personalize” their version of the manuals with their own highlights, sticky notes and bookmarks. Security in the application allows for public and private mark-ups.
For this client, I acted as both the Senior Project Manager and the Technical Project Manager for an image and workflow project involving 20 -- 40 resources. The project utilized Input Accel software for the capture piece and FileNET software for the workflow, storage, and retrieval portion, and initially involved 1,100 users in Nebraska and Illinois. This system served as a template for eventual rollout across the enterprise. For the client, I created Business Requirements, and was integral in developing Business Requirements Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Rollout. The team used Method 1 project management methodology throughout the initiative. The project spanned a two-and-a-half-year period and had a $12.8 million dollar budget.
I was responsible for the product selection, scope, design, testing, and implementation phases of a project combining e-commerce with document management and workflow. Additionally, I was involved in the final selection of Documentum to provide versioning and workflow. Documentum was used to store more than 1,000 web pages served to users by Dynamo's profiling software. Workflow was used during the web page editorial process and submission to the repository via the intranet. The website received more than one million hits per day.
Client: M & M Mars Project: Product Selection Role: Project Manager 10/97 - 12/97
For this client, I was responsible for product selection of a workflow product used by the Deduction Management Department, eventually rolling out to more than 28,000 employees. I worked closely with the client to develop a Vendor Request for Information document; was responsible for client and status meetings; taught basic imaging and workflow fundamentals to client staff; and worked with the client to select 10 vendors to receive the completed RFI. Additionally, I provided the Client with the final solution recommendation and documentations. The FileNET suite of products was chosen as best suited to fulfill this client's objectives.
As Senior Consultant, I was responsible for product selection for a collaborative workflow product to serve 32,000 employees in 140 countries. I reviewed existing in-house imaging and workflow application developed using Image Basic and Visual Basic. Additionally, I created a Request for Proposal that was sent out to 12 vendors and provided the final solution recommendation to roll out worldwide.
As Senior Consultant, I conducted document management and workflow requirements analysis. I selected 28 document management vendors to be considered for the client's final solution, and managed the Client and status meetings, acting as the liaison between vendors and the Client. Additionally, I developed real life scenarios to allow vendors to demonstrate their software. I efficiently worked with the Client to reach final vendor recommendations and delivered final documentation.
Client: Hewlett Packard Latin America Marketing Department (Mexico) Project: Product Selection and Design Role: Senior Consultant 08/96 - 12/96
I provided workflow domain expertise for the scope and design phases of this project. I was also involved in selecting a workflow package to help the Marketing Department track marketing expenses across several countries and multiple mainframe systems. Additionally, I managed client meetings, status updates, and documentation; participated in the workflow design; and provided Client recommendations.
For this client, I was responsible for facilitating sessions with the Client's staff to determine requirements for workflow functionality. I conducted detailed a comparison and demonstration of vendors' software; was instrumental in the Company winning a $5 million services contract; and designed the workflow system. The FileNET suite of products was chosen as the eventual winner of this product selection.

I defined business systems, requirements, procedures and practices; performed advanced planning necessary to define business system project objectives and prepare project plan; coordinated Client staff to assure resources were available; managed project objectives; and evaluated the team's performance, reporting his observations to management.
