I am currently co-located between Bangalore, India and the Tacoma, Washington area. I have recently been living in India and China, to explore the possibilities of outsourcing software development projects to these countries.

OBJECTIVE

I am seeking employment or consulting projects, specializing in the development of Rich Client Desktop - Client/Server SQL database applications. This could either be as the application developer or as a project manager to assist in outsourcing the software development to India. There are great opportunities to reduce the total cost of ownership for software development by outsourcing. But there are also pitfalls that can occur in outsourcing. I can help your company avoid these pitfalls.

I believe separating larger projects into smaller modular projects with well-defined API's, can be a logical approach to most development projects. And when ever possible, finding free, opensource code and modules to use as a starting point for the solution that needs to be developed, rather than spending the time to develop the solution from start to finish.

I would also be very interested in working for a company that can see potential in the websites and in the manufacturing system I have been developing over the past twelve years, and could possibly take what I have developed to a higher level. I enjoy being a entrepreneur, but I believe working for a larger company could offer me a more secure future.

I have developed a manufacturing database application (ERP System) called the Enterprise Automation System. This system is designed for Repetitive and Make To Order manufacturing and includes workflow modules for Customer Relationship Management, Estimating, Sales and Invoicing, Product Inventory, Suppliers, Purchasing, Raw Materials Inventory, Human Resources, Lot Tracking and Work In Process (Work Orders, Scheduling, Bill Of Materials, Job Costing, etc.). Thomson Learning is an international publishing company and a world leader in providing information and lifelong learning materials through print and online/e-commerce. At Thomson Learning I was developing highly complex FileMaker database applications for tracking rights and permissions of digital content. At Thomson Corporation I also started to receive Oracle training and to get my first experience working with Java, using the Borland jBuilder IDE. Robb Murray & Company - San Francisco, California - June 1994 to October 1998
When I was employed at Robb Murray & Company, it was the largest screen printing company in the city of San Francisco. My main job duties were purchasing, job cost estimating and launching jobs into work in process, to manufacture screen printed products for retail and transit advertising. Also in my free time I developed a database system for the company, for estimating, purchasing and to track work in progress.
During this time, I also started development of my manufacturing system and B2B Database Systems.

Menuworks - Oxnard, California - 1986 to 1993
Became responsible for a family owned business, manufacturing screen printed plastic signs for point of purchase advertising. I owned and operated Menuworks for seven years and from my experiences in owning my own small business, I have a working knowledge of all basic aspects of business.
