Database Engineering Leader
- Oracle DBA for 11 databases running on 10 different servers under Oracle 10.2.0.2
in a Solaris 8 environment for production, backup, test, development, and training
- upgraded Oracle RDBMS to 10.2.0.2 from 10.2.0.1, to 10.2.0.1 from 9.2.0.7, and to
9.2.0.7 from 8.1.7.4
- investigating the changes to be made to Oracle 10gR2 databases on servers and clients
to handle the impact of the upcoming Daylight Saving Time changes in 2007
- created instances and associated databases under Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g based on
functional requirements
- run the production database in ARCHIVELOG mode
- refresh non-production databases from production, as needed
- supervise weekly backups of production database via scripts and 'cron' jobs
- interface with users and customers regularly
- study and document needs for capacity planning and consolidation of servers to reduce
operational cost
