Working in Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) as a Transmission NOC Engineer (SDH, SONET, DWDM, SS7) from Nov-2007.

TCTS is one of the leading telecom service providers in India & abroad. It has presence all over the world & provides customers with total telecom solutions like voice, video, data etc.
Job Description:
Ø Working in GNMC (Global network Management Centre) i.e. International NOC for TCTS International (Former VSNL International or Teleglobe and Tyco global) network.

Ø Working on Network operation tools of former TELEGLOBE like REGI, REGP, NIMS, REGP etc and fault diagnostics of alarms reported by REGI.

Ø Second level investigation, problems repair & second level support for Global Operations and maintaining the MTTR. Resolving complaints from Customer Care regarding traffic down, link flapping, error and hits on the voice and data link of International customers.

Ø To troubleshoot SDH circuits ranging from E1 to STM-4 bandwidth. To co-ordinate with field engineers on solutions to troubleshoot and repair complex circuits, equipment configuration, optical link losses, hardware faults and PDH faults.

Ø To co-ordinate with different groups in the GNOC such as CDMA, Switch, DCN, OSP to minimize service disruption. Interaction with SME's/TAC/FOREIGN CARRIER for resolution of any critical faults and interaction with different internal teams like IP NOC and Traffic Provisioning for resolution of faults and finding RFO.

Ø Analysing network poor perfoming areas, providing Plan of Action to improve the performance. Analysing Major/Repeat outages trend, providing RCA/POA to reduce such outages. Auditing network to remove SPOF if there is any.

Ø Publishing report for monthly major outages and repeat cases.

Skill Set:
SDH (Transport)

Ø Exposure to Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH), Plesiocronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH).

Ø Understanding of transmission equipments such as Add/Drop Multiplexers (Vendor- Turin Traverse 2000/1600), Digital cross Connect (Vendor- Marconi MSH86/83/80, Marconi MCN7000, ECI TDAX, New Bridge), Switches (Vendor- Nortel DMS300, DMS GSP, Sonus, Tekelec).

Ø Hands-on experience on Turin Traverse 2000/1600, Marconi MSH86/83/80, Marconi MCN7000, ECI TDAX, New Bridge, Nortel DMS300, DMS GSP, Sonus, Tekelec. Experienced in maintaining fault records in Operations Support Systems (REGP).
