24 years of OpenVMS experience including 17 years as a systems administrator on VAX and Alpha systems. 7 years of experience installing and maintaining the Apache web server. Primary web developer for my department.

System administrator for a 24x7 OpenVMS cluster with over 200 users, mostly running Applied Materials' Workstream software supporting our wafer fab. The cluster consists of 2 AlphaServer DS20s connected to 2 HSG80 controllers in an HP EMA12000 SAN. Other standalone AlphaServers handle development, training, console access, and external email.

Responsible for the web-enabled reports and utilities served by the HP Secure Web Server (Apache). Wrote a password-protected website including authentication timeouts controlling access to information based on the users' credentials.

System administrator of a Red Hat Linux system running a custom application.

On call 24x7.

System administrator for a 24x7 VAXcluster with over 1500 users scattered all over the state. The cluster consisted of a 6000-510, a 7000-610, a 6000-430, and several assorted VAXstations.

Developer of control and monitoring software used by much of the operations staff.

On call 24x7 on a rotating schedule.

Products used: OpenVMS, COBOL, DCL, DECwindows Motif, VAX Macro, TPU, RMS, PMDF, and Multinet.


Systems Programmer
February 1990 - February 1991

Developer of systems-oriented applications and utilities to aid operators,
supervisors and support staff in their duties. Provided instruction to programming staff on VMS security.

Products used: VAX/VMS, COBOL, DCL, VAXTPU, Rdb, and System 1032.


Programmer/Analyst
January 1988 - February 1990

Developed a conversion utility in TPU to migrate COBOL and System 1022 source code from a DECsystem-10 to VAX COBOL and System 1032 that was used by all groups in our division. Performed a key role in the timely conversion of an accounting application utilized by 12 state agencies.

Provided training to 10+ programming staff in FMS, TPU, and the use of the conversion procedure.
