Production of localized documentation -- Contract Responsible for French, German, Japanese, and Korean production of Jrun and ColdFusion online documentation and help, from vendor delivery of translated documentation through hand-off to manufacturing.
Mar. 00 -- Aug. 01 Avid Technology A $420M organization, developer of wide range of software and systems for creating and manipulating digital media content, including video, audio and graphics. Localization Coordinator Responsible for European-market products (FIGS), including user interfaces and all online documentation and help, from project conception through hand-off to manufacturing. Primary support for Asian languages (Japanese and Chinese). Worked closely with product management, development, documentation and release engineering groups to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality localized products. Managed baseline budget of $1.1M. Solicited bids and negotiated prices and schedules, obtained favorable pricing and ensured that deadlines were met. Established and communicated milestones and project requirements. Managed and packaged all instructions, builds and file hand-offs. Extracted and merged UI files using in-house tools. Performed extensive testing and troubleshooting of localized interfaces. QA Engineer (Feb. 98 to May 99) Responsible for testing a number of subsystems of Interleaf 7, a complex publishing product. Improved and documented testing procedures. Tested software using sophisticated defecttracking tools. Actively contributed to product design and performed problemsolving for customer support organization. Solely responsible for testing HTMLbased user tutorial (including Java applets) on several browsers.
