* Managed a .Net development team of 12 supporting the TicketsNow.com website. Established work intake prioritization and ROI for all projects. Established organized deployments with QA involvement and reduced the number of bad deployments by 90%.
* Rescued a major enterprise initiative from a consulting firm that was failing to deliver a new e-commerce site by aggressively moving staff from the old website team to support the consulting effort and delivered the new site on time and under budget while sustaining the old web site with no downtime.
* Managed a team of 8 SQL Server DBAs. Worked with the team to evolve them into a team that was collaborative and accountable for work intake and completion of tasks. This action was vital to the completion of the new TicketsNow website rollout.
* While still leading the DBA team, rescued a series of failed Enterprise Loyalty programs from incomplete consulting activities using the DBA team as resources for Data Warehouse work. Also rescued and completed a large Customer Care Reporting and tracking CRM effort that was also abandoned.
* Managed the downsizing of the DBA team to 3 team members with no reduction in maintenance and production support.
* Achieved and maintained 99.99% uptime for more than 26 production SQL Server databases and more than 50 total support databases for more than 1 year.
* Formed and established a data warehouse team using the DBAs as resources and successfully deployed a Marketing data warehouse component focusing on Sales, Customers and Payments. Worked with external vendors Omniture and Exact Target to incorporate feeds from their systems into the Data bus architected Enterprise Data Warehouse using the Kimball methodology.
* Managed the activities of a contract EDW Architect to incorporate substantial additional data to the warehouse such as Ticket Inventory in real time and creation of a Finance EDW with full auditing.
* Rolled out Business Objects Enterprise XII R2 to clients in Marketing and Finance. Created Universes, scaled servers and rolled out Desktop Intelligence, Dashboard and Business Objects Mobile.
* Rolled out managed and evangelized SQL Reporting Services, SQL Report Builder and related tools to the enterprise business users for ad-hoc queries.
* Provided architectural guidance to Architecture director on introduction of open source technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, LAMP, SugarCRM and Pentaho for the strategic roadmap for the company as revenue and profit margins change.

* Responsible for the research, development of architecture and software development for a series of product that wrapped an existing manufacturing hardware software system and produced a Zero Maintenance Support structure for the client's manufacturing solutions using a low cost open source approach.
* Architected, analyzed, designed, coded and tested software to automate the remote installation of product updates, Red Hat Linux ES updates, Oracle Database changes and updates and PostgreSQL database support. Design used Open SSH, rsync, RPM and resilient coding techniques to gracefully degrade in the case of network or other failures. Used Microsoft Office to plan and schedule the work efforts.
* Architected, analyzed, designed, coded and tested software to automate the backup of software, Oracle database files, exports, archive logs to a remote data center to allow rapid disaster recovery of managed client Linux appliances.
* Architected, analyzed, designed and coded an automatic installation mechanism for the client software systems using Red Hat KickStart, and extensive post installation including silent installs of core software, system setup, and Oracle database creation, installation, population.
