Sr. IT Program/Project Team Manager (e-commerce software and business intelligence development) November 2005 -- present * Managed a .Net development team of 12 supporting the TicketsNow.com website. Established work intake prioritization and ROI for all projects. Established organized deployments with QA involvement and reduced the number of bad deployments by 90%. * Rescued a major enterprise initiative from a consulting firm that was failing to deliver a new e-commerce site by aggressively moving staff from the old website team to support the consulting effort and delivered the new site on time and under budget while sustaining the old web site with no downtime. * Managed a team of 8 SQL Server DBAs. Worked with the team to evolve them into a team that was collaborative and accountable for work intake and completion of tasks. This action was vital to the completion of the new TicketsNow website rollout. * While still leading the DBA team, rescued a series of failed Enterprise Loyalty programs from incomplete consulting activities using the DBA team as resources for Data Warehouse work. Worked with external vendors Omniture and Exact Target to incorporate feeds from their systems into the Data bus architected Enterprise Data Warehouse using the Kimball methodology. * Managed the activities of a contract EDW Architect to incorporate substantial additional data to the warehouse such as Ticket Inventory in real time and creation of a Finance EDW with full auditing. * Rolled out Business Objects Enterprise XII R2 to clients in Marketing and Finance. Sr. Program / Project Manager Aug 2005 -- November 2005 * Program Management (PMO) Responsibility for the AT&T Merger of Financial data consisting of Revenue, Force, Volume and Expense data between siloed areas. Program consisted of Interim Reporting of Data for Merger Day 1 reporting, Long Term Reporting for combined company and Balance Sheet consolidation projects. Program is valued at $10M with a team of 30. * PMO Responsibilities included Integration Management, Scope and Time Management. Cost Management was provided using SBC Express processes. * Project management for the Web development team using Websphere and Apache for the presentation layer. * Managed Data Warehouse Design team for the consolidation of Enterprise Data Warehouses between AT&T and SBC using Teradata and Hyperion Essbase cubes.
Risetime Technologies Inc Client: Panasonic FSA Senior Consultant/Project Manager Feb 2005 -- June 2005 * Responsible for the research, development of architecture and software development for a series of product that wrapped an existing manufacturing hardware software system and produced a Zero Maintenance Support structure for the client's manufacturing solutions using a low cost open source approach. * Architected, analyzed, designed, coded and tested software to automate the remote installation of product updates, Red Hat Linux ES updates, Oracle Database changes and updates and PostgreSQL database support. Design used Open SSH, rsync, RPM and resilient coding techniques to gracefully degrade in the case of network or other failures. Used Microsoft Office to plan and schedule the work efforts. * Architected, analyzed, designed, coded and tested software to automate the backup of software, Oracle database files, exports, archive logs to a remote data center to allow rapid disaster recovery of managed client Linux appliances. * Architected, analyzed, designed and coded an automatic installation mechanism for the client software systems using Red Hat KickStart, and extensive post installation including silent installs of core software, system setup, and Oracle database creation, installation, population. * Developed interfaces to an Apache httpd server that provided a user interface which was database driven from a Postgres database. Program Manager/Network System Project Manager May 2003 -- Feb 2005 * Program Management (PMO) Responsibility for the Customer Network Management Program for SONET and MON networks, and the Cisco OPT-E-MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) program. Programs are valued at $17M with a team of 50, and $10M with a team of 35. * PMO Responsibilities included Integration Management, Scope and Time Management. Cost Management was provided using SBC Express processes. * Significant responsibilities for Human Resource Management involved engaging and setting up new areas of responsibilities for support and special areas of knowledge. * Communications Planning allowed the team to overcome internal roadblocks and focused on efficient Joint Architecture and Design teams. * Both Programs had significant Risks which were managed by a proactive assessment and tracking of risks and mitigation strategies. Shared needs were managed via the PMO process and shared servers, architectures and key learning between the Programs. * Provided Contractor Project Management for external contract teams (MicroMuse, GenerationEtech) as well as internal IT groups. Motorola Inc Lead Software Engineer/Project Manager Jan 1996- March 2001 * Managed and provided technical direction for five software engineers and 13 software technicians supporting five manufacturing factories. Direction resulted in a guaranteed response of four weeks for application modifications and single shift response for problem resolutions, a reduction of 75% and a 700% respectively. Software was written in C/C++, Tcl/Tk, Visual Basic, and Unix shell scripting. Tools used were Microsoft Project, Remedy and ClearCase. * Managed all networking for 6 factories.
