Contract for maintenance and enhancements to PACE (Profitability and Customer Service Enhancement). PACE is Nations Bank's core Asset Management Accounting System. Coding/testing was done using both batch and CICS COBOL 370 programs. Researched programs requiring time machine testing for Y2K (Year 2000).
Other utilities/products used: TSO/ISPF, VSAM, CA7, SAR, NDM, XPEDITER (CICS/BATCH), FILE-AID, Windows NT (Word, Excel, and Outlook. Machines used: IBM OS/MVS 390; JCL - JES2.

Contract to help in the development of an enhanced data-exchange project called CYBERLIFE. This involved the process of requesting the display of data at the PC level for retrieval from the IBM mainframe through direct communication links. Converted and tested numerous programs written in ALC under the old data-exchange subsystems Field Link/Plan Advisor to COBOL II for the new CyberLife system. Maintained/developed programs on the mainframe side using COBOL II, Assembler, CICS, VSAM, TSO, OS/MVS, and WINDOWS. Some tasks required converting programs written in Assembler to COBOL II. My contract with CYBERTEK was extended in February 1997 to help develop an enhancement to CYBERLIFE for processing a new type of traditional life insurance called Blended Insurance.

7/90 - Wrote a report program on the investment performance of assets measured in international currencies.
7/89 - Became a key programmer involved in upgrading a software package IPS (Investment Performance System) that reports and measures the performance of assets. I was directly responsible for cleaning up logic in the interface programs which link the IPS system trust accounting software systems. These programs were required to support both the WANG VS and IBM/OS COBOL languages.

2/89-7/89 - Member of a development team responsible for finishing the development of a new pension plan record-keeping system called SURPASS. This was being developed on the WANG VS machine. Directly responsible for writing the general/detail specifications, writing the programs, and closing the initial testing for processing withdrawals and distributions from defined contribution retirement plans, such as profit sharing and
401K plans. This required extensive independent research and meetings with legal counsel at SEI to define the legal tax aspects of retirement plan distributions.

PMSC purchased the Dytronix VLn system in late 1987. Responsible for helping to integrate the non-traditional life insurance functions of the VLn system into PMSC's life insurance software package, which did not have a non-traditional life insurance capability. The idea was to integrate the two systems into one. Designed and implemented changes to the VLn system to process a type of Interest Sensitive Whole Life insurance product in which the premiums are fixed for a period of 2 years, but could change to a different fixed premium, depending on the investment results for each 2-year period. Machines used: IBM/DOS/ICCF. Part of the integration project was converting programs written in DOS to OS.

8/86-11/87 - A key part of further development and enhancements to the VLn system. Designed, coded, and tested a new Reserve Valuation subsystem to report the reserves for non-traditional life insurance products processed by the VLn system. This was by far the most challenging project of my career. Extensive research was required in learning the legal/actuarial requirements for calculating reserves and guideline premiums for Variable Life and Universal Life Insurance products.

4/86-8/86 - Helped test a new release of VLn for Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company to administer their Variable Life and Variable Universal Life Insurance products.

3/85-2/86 - A key role in stalling VLn at Crown Life in Toronto, Canada, to process a Single Premium Variable Life product.
