Developed and led the engineering evaluation of Windows 2003 R2 x64 project for deployment in J&J IM Architecture. Responsible for providing technical leadership and project management oversight for the project using Global Services Realization Process (GSRP) project methodology. The GSRP responsibilities included:
* Overall architecture design for the project
* Maintain vendor relationship(s)
* Partner with TED PMO to schedule and coordinate project tasks and communications

* Identify and document the Release Management requirements for Windows x64 Edition
* Develop and execute required test plans for all base utility requirements in conjunction with the appropriate Release Management Leads.
* Coordinate Pilot in partnership with Deployment and Operations Regional Leads as appropriate.
* Transition the technology to the Global Deployment Lead as per GSRP.

The development activities included:
* Installed and tested Standard and Enterprise Editions of Windows 2003 x64 R2 on HP blade servers BL20p, BL25p and BL45p and HP rackmount servers DL385 and DL585.
* Installed and tested Microsoft OS clustering for Windows 2003 R2 x64
* Installed and tested SAN connectivity to EVA 8000 using Emulex HBA's
* Installed and tested Base Utilities running on Windows 2003 R2 x64 servers. The base utilities included Netbackup client 5.1 MP4, NetIQ 6.0.3 SP1, VirusScan 8.0i, ePO 3.5.5, HP SIM 7.50 SP5, PSP 7.51, Altiris client 6.1 and Altiris management solutions - Inventory Solution 6.1, Software Delivery 6.1 and Patch Management 6.2.

Maintained server standards deployed in J&J and evaluated the next generation servers DL385 G2 and DL585 G2 servers for inclusion in J&J IM Architecture.

Enterprise Application Computing Services, Senior System Analyst (1998 - 2004)
Provided timely systems development and operations support for the Windows Computing platform in a FDA validated environment for divisional applications and file and print servers in Whitehouse Station, Rahway, and West Point within agreed upon Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Responsibilities included project leadership and both system administration as well as remote system administration support for HP Intel Windows servers for the corporate division that involved interaction with customers supporting application such as Cognos, Documentum management and applications used by Human Resources.
* Built and configured new Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers including Cluster and Terminal servers, installing both hardware and software using fault tolerant technology RAID, mirroring clustering etc. on various models (DL 380G2/G3, DL 580G2, DL 360G3) of Intel based servers.
* Performed server upgrades of hardware, software with evolving technology (NT 3.5.1, NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows 2003).
* Provided functional upgrades and on-going patches and fixes delivered from Microsoft with minimal production downtime.
* Initiated and led the Y2K remediation effort for NT servers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Significantly improved the reliability of NT servers and changed the environment from heterogeneous to homogeneous.
* Consolidated file and print servers for migration to Windows 2000. Effectively used various tools and utilities like Print Migration Utility, Robocopy, Heyena, DRA, NT scripts etc. to streamline the migration process.
* Manipulated data within MS Access and led the migration of MS Access database containing Windows asset information to CETS database in Oracle to track server configuration data, uptime statistics, and production server changes.

* Developed and streamlined procedures for procurement and asset management of corporate Windows servers. Highlights included generating quotes for servers based on department needs, tracking and processing orders, and ensuring timely delivery and deployment of the servers.
* Initiated and led the evaluation and recommendation of Patch Management Tools designed to assess vulnerability. The tools evaluated were Update Expert, Service Pack Manager 2000, and hfnetchk.
* Worked as a part of team to develop 24X7 HP/ITO monitoring and system change control processes to improve availability of computer systems to internal business customers.
* Upgraded the HP/ITO agents on NT servers. Defined new HP/ITO templates, process flows, and automated actions based on adaptive, corrective, and perfective maintenance requirements.
* Continually reviewed and modified the list of "critical" alert event messages within NT to streamline the effectiveness of the HP/ITO tool.

NT Computing, System Analyst (1995 - 1998)

Responsible for the delivery of high quality, stable and integrated file/print services to Merck customer communities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include the day-to-day support of over 30,000 customers on a 7/24 support. Activities included account and resource management, backup/recovery, performance monitoring, and system hardware/software maintenance and upgrades.

* Migrated production file and print servers from NT 3.5 to NT 4.0.
* Decommissioned old hardware and migrated 200 home directories to the production NT 4.0 server environment.
* Led an initiative to deploy Norton Anti-Virus and CIM on all NT file and print servers software at corporate headquarter which allowed support staff to access and trouble-shoot servers remotely saving money through reduced support costs.

Installed, tested and implemented new version of mainframe operating system MVS/ESA 4.3.
