Employment History
AMDOCS Inc. AT&T Managed Services Account
Applications Developer, Programmer, Analyst
May 2008 - present

Applications Developer-- My whole organization was outsourced to Amdocs, Inc. in 2008. After the transition I continued to remain working at the same job performing the functions as previously when I was an AT&T Employee. See the AT&T job descriptions below.

AT&T Corp. Applications Developer, Programmer, Analyst
1986 - 2008

Applications Developer-- Responsible for design, development and implementation of Unix code in support of a 3 applications: CLM: Customer List Management, ARNDT: AT&T Residential Do Not Call Telemarketing Database, and CDR: Customer Detail Reporting systems.

CLM is a Windows user front-end application that allows marketing managers to develop promotions lists for marketing AT&T products to customers and prospects. This application interfaces with a Teradata database. My functions involve design, coding, testing and implementation of application software in the both MVS and UNIX. The application involves designing software using Oracle SQL, Teradata SQL, Korn-shell, Syncsort, NDM, FTP, Microfocus COBOL in Unix. The application also involves designing software using Teradata SQL, Syncsort, NDM, FTP, JCL, OS MVS/COBOL.

Production Operations -- Schedule, monitor and execute daily, weekly and monthly CLM production processes, either as primary production programmer. Provide 24x7 support for Marketing client-users to resolve production job failures in real-time.

ARDNT is the database that AT&T maintains to scrub telemarketing lists against to prevent contacting customers and prospects that have enrolled in the FTC's Do Not Call "DNC" program. My duties were to maintain subscriptions with the FTC and the various states that register DNC customers and periodically download those lists to update the AT&T DNC database. Technologies involve mainframe Procs and JCL to execute Teradata bteq, fastloads and exports.

CDR is a unix based interactive tool for internal AT&T clients to retrieved usage and marketing information on individual customers. The process has a intranet front end and interfaces with an Oracle database where metadata is retained to construct Teradata SQL queries dynamically to retrieve customer data from the AT&T Residential Customer database. C programs on UNIX built the report as a text file that was returned to the user in real time.

Project Leader -- Responsible for coordinating all activities of ten programmers whose duties included support of the business customer revenue tracking system which was the largest database in AT&T. Directed design, coding, testing and implementation of all application software in the MVS COBOL/VSAM and DB2/CICS environments.

Production Operations -- Schedule, monitor and execute daily, weekly and monthly production MVS processes, either as primary production programmer or as client programmer interfacing with a central operations production support service.
Instructional and Mentoring -- Presentations of new technologies to large groups of coworkers through classroom formats and one-on-one mentoring of entry-level developers.

Trouble Resolution -- Coordinate emergency resolution, repair and restart of production failures and determination of the cause of data discrepancies on a 24 x 7 basis.

Development / Enhancement -- Planning the development and testing of new software in PC applications and code design for MVS processes. Implemented continual improvement to maintain efficient execution in continually evolving environments. (e.g. Y2K)

Maintenance -- Oversight of software modifications to achieve compliance with system changes and new data requirements. Additionally, manage production support coverage schedules and inspect all new production processes to employ optimum processing efficiencies.

Adhoc -- Create special processes (e.g. reports, spreadsheets, tape feeds, MVS files) on short notice to react to sudden data needs, correct transient system data discrepancies, or feed data urgently required by interfacing applications or client.
