Responsibilities: Coach and support staff. Monitoring of all platforms in the US for PwC (Microsoft, UNIX, VAX, and OS390) Monitoring all network gear and network attached devices in the US for PwC. Resolving alarms as SOPs allow, escalating alarms as appropriate. Investigating new alarms to determine if it can be solved in the NOC vs. escalation. Writing new SOPs as appropriate. Training new staff as needed. Monitoring all data backups for the US. Completion of all data restores. Attend or host daily problem management call. Attend or host weekly field support operations call. Prepare media for shipment to off-site storage vendor. Receive expired media from storage, degauss and reuse as necessary.
The current environment is a large scale data center and the US computing infrastructure. We currently monitor 2500 servers, 2000 Microsoft and 500 UNIX servers in the data center. All Liebert UPS equipment and all power levels from each of the two power grids. We also monitor the health of the two redundant generators. We monitor all data center network equipment (routers, switches, and SAN fabrics). We also monitor all SAN equipment.
Additionally we monitor 120 field offices and all of their servers, another 200 Microsoft servers and and of the CISCO networking equipment (routers, switches, VOIP equipment, and wireless access points) and all of the HVAC and UPS equipment.
We monitor all devices on the US network capable of sending an SNMP trap. Communicate impact of outage to customers and management. Coordinate monthly patching with customers and other stakeholders. Staff growth and development including training on new technologies (i.e. convergence and virtualization).

AT&T Information Technology Services - Emerald Information Systems Lake Mary, FL Unified Global Network Migration Project Team Leader - Contract September 1996 - April 1997 Responsibilities: Supervise a team of engineers in the conversion of 8,000+ workstations to Microsoft Exchange. This project involved traveling to other AT&T locations across the US, with a team, to combine disparate AT&T LANs to one unified WAN. AT&T ITS is a AT&T business unit that provides networking technology solutions to other AT&T business units.
Charles Schwab - System One Technical Staffing Orlando, FL NT Administration & Support Contract July 1996 - September 1996 Responsibilities: Support and maintenance of 1400 NT 3.51 Workstations and 200 NT 3.51 Servers. This contract involved trouble-shooting Watermark imaging and NT production servers and workstations.
Recom Inc. - System One Technical Staffing Orlando, FL Customer Service Engineer Contract April 1996- July 1996 Responsibilities: Primary support to customers and field engineers for: NetWare and Windows NT network operating systems, financial institution to online service center telecommunications and WAN routing, PC applications and operating systems, and all PC and Terminal banking teller applications. Developed a billing and inventory tracking database using MS Access.
