Multimedia Specialist / Systems Administrator - Jun. 2005 to Apr. 2007
L-3 Communications Services Group, Ft. Gordon, GA
Primary Function: Was responsible for processing all duplication (written, audio, and video) requests at the Georgia Center for Language. Maintained and operated the main Satellite (CCTV) system that transmits several foreign language transmissions. Was responsible for all digital conversions and upgrade requirements. Secondary Function: Was a backup Systems Administrator for five domains: NSA, NIPRNet, DLPT-5 (OSIS), Intranet Video w/translation-transcription specialized classroom utilizing Cisco switch and Charter ISP network consisting of over 380 Windows 2000/XP Professional computer systems, 120 laptops, 72 printers, 45 SmartBoard systems, 45 video projectors, 45 VHS/DVD combo units, and 6 video projector systems.
* Held great responsibility in metting L-3 Corporate requirements as well as the local GCL requirements. Took initiative in researching, pilot testing programs, software, and hardware that I deemed necessary to achieve and maintain optimum performance at the GCL.
* Provided extensive multimedia support to the GCL staff. Spearheaded small working group sessions to train instructors on procedures of both audio and video editing that would serve to enhance their delivery of language training in the classroom. * Managed all DLPT-5 lab-based language testing data in order for students to be tested. This included minor programming tasks via editing a single JavaScript file to point to certain directories.
* Coordinated, managed, and maintained the installation of the first DLPT-5 web-based and lab-based testing lab at the Georgia Center for Language consisting of 30 workstations, an Instructor Consle, and a Windows 2003 File Server. The DLPT-5 lab utilized the Sony Virtuoso and Sony Soloist applications to distribute the lab-based tests to the users.
