First project was a replication of the Database built with Siebel data model residing on an r50 db2 server into another r50 DB2 database warehouse staging environment.

Installation of UDB DB2 EEE in a multi node environment on an RS/6000 SP machine for a data ware housing environment which spans globally across three zones (America's, Europe's, and Asia-Pacific's) of the IBM Sales and opportunities module.
•Installation of UDB DB2 EE 7.1 Database environments on RS/6000 SP Machine for the Staging Layers
•Installed, Configured and cataloged databases for Report generation, which is being done by Informatica and Brio.
•Creation, implementation and maintenance of the data mart made out of three Siebel servers each residing on RS/6000 servers with IBM AIX as the operating System, located in north America, Europe and Asia-pacific regions, using replication process with DPROPR, DATAJOINER and Shell Scripting and UDB DB2 V 7.2 EE special features (Load Generated Missing Option).
•Installed, Configured and cataloged databases for Report generation, which is being done by Informatica and Brio.
•Designed the SIEBEL Operational data store using OLAP Integration server and modeling concepts.
•Written shell scripts for maintaining last three online backups and last three days of log files, and automated all general maintenance processes.

The Second Project was installation of the star schema with 18 fact and summary tables and 56 dimension tables and about 30 more reference tables. There were some organization request tables, which act as the look up tables. The database is a warehouse spanning across all the Geo's (Asia-Pacific, Europe's and North America's)
•Designed the physical database residing on EEE warehouse environment spanning across four volume groups and spread across lots of devices, with 8 logical partitions and 4 physical nodes across 4 RS/6000 servers.
•Set up of two similar databases for toggling between them to enable 24 *7 database availability using scripts, one database is online at one point in time and one being offline. Automation of the data mart Load process on the offline database three times a day for each Geo.
•Automation of the Load process for the weeks, end of business data using shell scripting which loads all the weekly fact tables and the history fact tables and all the weekly dimension tables with the Thursdays data.
•Maintenance of security for users based on their use rid and email id entry in a specific table and based on what's called here as view class (restricts users to access a few sets of views based on their Geography permits) using scripts. Automation of Maintenance routines, like, reorgchk, run stats on all nodes (which runs for each Geo), Offline Backup, Thresholds check on Tablespaces, Transaction log monitoring, and disk space monitoring, archival of transaction log files.
•Replication of a trigger table on to a GWA DB2 environment to trigger of reports after each load with two subscriptions and two registrations for both the databases on the warehouse.
•Setting up MQ series on DB2 V 7.2 on an S85 RS/6000 server for capturing the data from the Essbase Hyperion Multi dimensional Cubes (Apex data) to bring it to the S85 staging db2 tables. The intermediate layer being UDB Ware house manager residing on Windows 2000.

Db2 Udb developer for Enterprise Warehouse, this is currently 4+ TB, system used financial risk assessment. Install and configure Udb v8.1 on Udb system on s85. The environment uses AB Initio for the ETL processing and Brio, Cognos for user reporting. Primary duties include database implementation, and SQL tuning (access path analysis, index tuning, workload management analysis), production support on 24 x 7 basis and database problem determination and correction.
Responsibilities:
•Led training for developers and operations staff on DB2 issue resolution procedures to reduce DBA support calls.
•Helped for Migration of current system from SP2 32 logical nodes to 16 logical nodes on 2 p690 lpars.
•Did a benchmark test and executed the migration process.
•Achieved 40% performance improvement by migrating to p690, lesser maintenance. Down time and maintainence window was reduced to 50%.
•The Backup restore process was brought down by 70%.
