RESUME DETAILS
Objective: To pursue a career in DSP-Embedded systems design.

Education:
1) North Carolina State University Raleigh NC.
Master of Science in Computer Engineering,
Aug 2006-- Dec 2007.
GPA: 3.667 (till spring 2007).

2) National Institute of Technology Warangal (NITW) Warangal, India.
Bachelor of Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering,(May 2003).

1) Work Experience:
Emuzed India pvt ltd Bangalore, India.
DSP Engineer (June 2003 -- April 2006).

i) H.264 BP Decoder on Tms320DM320:
Ported the H.264 baseline profile decoder as a split solution with bit-stream parsing on ARM9 and reconstruction on the C54x.
Actively involved in the IMX (h/w accelerator) optimization of IDCT, intra/inter- prediction, in-loop de-blocking of H.264 BP along with a team member.

ii) Mpeg-4 SP Decoder on Tms320DM270:
Added the pause-resume feature for Mpeg-4 SP playback on scenario with both encoder and decoder running on the video phone of Panasonic.
Resolved post release bugs, exceeded team manager's expectations by handling the project with no prior experience on DM270.

iii) WMV-9 SP Video decoder:
Reference code optimization (in C) of the VLD & MB header tables storage using chained hash tables approach and code review of the project.

iv) Jpeg Decoder & H.263+ decoder on Tms320C55x:
Modified the Jpeg Decoder to perform chunk by chunk decoding of upto 4- Mega Pixel images (Interleaved and planar formats). Ported H.263+ decoder, made it XDAIS compliant, and did assembly optimization. Ported and assembly optimized de-blocking for portable devices using OMAP1510 (BenQ, Samsung).

v) Image Scaling:
Implemented the image scaling in C, did C55x assembly optimization for mobile devices of OMAP, IMX optimization for DM270 processor.

2) Internship:
Code Hank LLc Raleigh, NC.
Summer intern (June -- August 2007).
BRAM instantiation, access and usage in ISE of xilinx for Virtex-4.
Acquaintance with Xilinx ISE tools like PAR, iMPACT, Chip-scope pro inserter and analyzer, and EDK tools like Platform studio, SDK, XMD and software debugger.

Graduate courses (till spring 2007):
Computer Vision, Digital Signal Processing, Wireless Communications, Embedded System Design, DSP Architecture, Digital ASIC design and Computer Networks.

Current courses(Fall 2007)
Digital Vlsi design, ASIC verification, Computer Design and technology.

Spring 2007 Projects:
1) Embedded system design: (C language implementation).
i) Code profiling on M16C, by sampling the PC register with periodic timer interrupts.
ii) Fixed point conversion of floating point arithmetic for M16C.
iii) Serial comm. link among two M16c processors by interrupting the UART port.
iv) µCosII basics.
2) DSP Architecture: Matlab, SystemC (Transactional level) and Verilog implementation of sub-band audio Encoder.
3) Digital ASIC design: RTL synthesis of a simple sudoku solver in verilog.

Fall 2006 Projects:
1) Computer vision:
i) C implementation of kernel edge detector on grey scale images.
ii) Image Noise removal using isotropic and anisotropic diffusion (in C).
iii) Hough Transform approach to find the center of pcb lead holes (in C).
2) Digital signal processing: various implementations of FIR and IIR digital Filters Bi-channel QMF filter banks (in Matlab).
3) Wireless communications: Theoretical design of TDMA air interface parameters for the system in a Raleigh fading channel with delay spread of 2 msec for the data rate of 30kbps, using the OFDM modulation technique.

Software skills:
1) Programming: Proficiency in C, assembly coding (algebraic) on Tms320C55x.
2) IDE related: Code Composer Studio, Micro soft visual studio .Net.
3) Digital Design: Verilog, SystemC, acquaintance with Xilinx ISE tools.
4) Operating system exposure: Linux, and µCosII.
5) Processor Architectures: Working knowledge of TI's Tms320C55x, Tms320DM270, Tms320DM320 and their h/w accelerators IMX, VLCD_QIQ, and DMAC and ISAs of Renesas M16C and Atmel's AVR.
