My roll at this client site was to write a series of EASYTRIEVE programs using VSAM KSDS, ESDS and create flat files and to populate DB2 tables already defined and in place. EASYTRIEVE was the language of choice at this client site in combination with DB2 and VSAM files. Other duties were to create the necessary procedures, JCLs and thorough testing of these programs. Analysis of the data selected and revision of the data reports generated.

Project: Add Cents to the Lunch Income.
This project involved modification of the various CICS/COBOL programs as well as DBS maps and DB2 Tables used in the process of calculating and maintaining the information related to the paid, freed or reduced lunches for the students of the schools in the Miami Dade County.

• Responsible for converting files and tune up program codes written in COBOL II using VSAM and IDMS Batch and ONLINE ADS Dialogs in order to carry and access the new Area codes throughout the RSB, NENA and OSADIA Customer Service Orders and billing application systems.
• These applications were tackled in two separate phases.
o Phase 1: My role was to analyze the RSB and NENA applications and modify program codes and expand a wide array of master files including a large Billing and Customer service Order IDMS Database.
o Phase 2: Similar approach as above with additional programmers analyzed and developed the remaining applications.
• Expanded and preparer VSAM master files to carry the new area codes.

Project: Department Of Labor -- DOL (Unemployment Insurance)
• My role in the Department Of Labor (DOL) team site was mostly maintenance of job request applied to the various applications to the GMGroup Consulting department outsources for DOL.
• Modified all existing tables, online and batch COBOL/CICS programs in order to increment the unemployment insurance benefit from 54 to 72 days.
• Developed a manual entry system into an ONLINE application written in CICS-Web enable approach using DB2 tables and VSAM-KSDS files.
o This application was an online data entry system providing 3270 data screens accurate validation routines and a Batch interface composed of detail transaction reports, file back-ups maintenance and JCL modules.
o The transactions handled by this application were employee maintenance records, holidays, sick, on leave, holidays and worked hours in records called TALLY Records.
o Accounting transactions records were later added to the process.
o User training manuals, user system documentation and application program directives were written for this system as part of the whole endeavor.
• Expanded/modified tables in order to change the unemployment benefits from 54 to 72 days.
• Modified the code of the existing programs to agree with the new benefit changes.
• Modified reports and special forms in order to print the new benefit changes.
• Modified and tested JCL and batch procedures.
• Designed new BMS maps and VSAM files in order to process and control time and tally cards.
