PROFESSIONAL OBJECTIVE

Seeking a position as a Network Consultant or Engineer in an environment that provides challenge, opportunity and professional growth.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Management Experience
Human Resources: Managed implementation crews of up to 8 technicians during numerous Frame Relay and PPP network installations. Quite frequently the installation process included modifying user desktop configurations (adding software clients), and installation of company software.
Project Management: Designed and coordinated network expansions and wiring installations for a pharmaceutical distribution company; Project Manager for a series of WAN installations which included everything from working with Telco to verify a good link state, to installing the routers, switches/hubs, file servers. In addition, my job included creating technical and turnover documentation for our customer's use, including drawings illustrating how and where our equipment was connected and what the devices were named. I presented the customer with the scope of work at the onset of the project and verification and customer contract sign-off indicating our completion of deliverables and client's satisfaction.
Capacity management: Maintained a network infrastructure that supported a 900 user multi-networked LAN with WAN links to 31 remote sites. Additionally, I was in charge of TCP/IP administration for corporate-wide network (pre DHCP and DNS). I created technical documentation and diagrams for all hosts and intra-network and WAN connectivity.

Vendor management: Network installations, P.C. moves and corporate-wide data/telecomm wiring installations.

Media: 10-Base-T, 10-Base-2, 10-Base-5, FDDI, etc.
Network equipment: Synoptics/Bay Networks, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, and other various hubs; Cisco, Wellfleet and HP routers, IOS ver 11, 12. I've also been trained to use Network General's Sniffer for DOS and Windows.
Server Support: IBM Risc 6000 530/550, Mips Risc 3360 and Hewlett Packard 9000 series computers, enterprise servers, e.g. Compaq, Dell and Hewlett Packard, NetFrame.

Data-Communications Experience
Designed, installed, and supported LANs, WANs, and MANs with Wellfleet, Bay Networks and Cisco routers; including infrastructure using industry standard switches and hubs. Telecommunications experience required support of statistical/time division muxes, teleprocessing CSU/DSUs, VCX equipment. Circuit termination and turn-up. In depth knowledge of daily communications problem solving of circuit failures, termination of T1s - mapping and looping, etc. T1 channel splitting and grouping using a DACS.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

April 2002 - Present Self- Employed, Network installations and desktop support for small businesses and individual users. Desktop support included software and hardware troubleshooting and replacing desktop components, i.e., HDD, memory, NICS, etc.. Network installations and troubleshooting involved installation of NT and 2000 LANs for 25 users or less.

April 2000 - Dec. 2002 Home remodeling - repairing and updates to my home. Extensive amount of undisclosed damage discovered after I purchased my home.

Jan. 1998 - April 2000 Network Consultant, Shared Medical Systems, Dallas, TX
Provided PC, LAN, and WAN consulting services for the SMS Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco regional offices. Job duties included remote and on-site project management, installation of SMS application platforms, preparation and delivery of client presentations, and engagement related documentation. Additional responsibilities: resource scheduling, management, and supervision of implementation staff during project execution, Cisco router programming and updates to IOS and router installation.
