* Direct responsibility for a team of 16 people participating in the functional roles of network, server, and desktop support. Responsible for all systems at both the main State Street and Burnham production facilities.
* Fully managed the formal composing of network, server, and desktop standards. New standards were implemented with the purpose of streamlining deployments and utilizing automation whenever possible.
* Formalized a new desktop support training plan to effectively manage a period of 80% planned employee attrition. During this time period of call volume tripled with a correlating direct increase to customer satisfaction.
* Reengineered the support model for all remote satellite office by providing VPN connectivity, shared enterprise resources, and realignment of the desktop environment to existing enterprise standards.
* Project manager and head technical lead on upgrading all layer 2 networking equipment within the main office to layer 2/3 Cisco equipment. The project was accomplished transparently and without any outage.
* Instituted monthly performance metrics and reports as part of an initiative to increase IT efficiency.
* Managed the upgrade of all press control systems at the production facility to a new version of software, while deploying new hardware in a parallel environment.
* Project manager for the implementation of a new solid state memory storage system for the corporate ad accounting system. The new storage technology was implemented without outage or interruption to a critical revenue generating service.
* Project manager for the Office 2007 Rapid Deployment Project as a proof of concept initiative in building a SharePoint v3.0 business intelligence portal to monitor the generation of ad revenue. This project was funded entirely by Microsoft as part of building eight national case studies for the introduction of their new product line.
* Lead and fully managed the project to upgrade the existing Citrix environment to Citrix Metaframe 4.0. Redirected the environment from being utilized only for remote access purposes to being actively used to host production applications.
* Upgrade all stand-alone DNS servers and incorporated them into an architecture of Active Directory Integrated DNS zones as part of an overall business continuity plan.
* Managed the implementation of several enterprise system upgrades: Exchange 2003 and email archiving, Pre-Press pagination systems, and Pre-Press advertisement tracking systems. * Fully managed the decommissioning of all legacy NT systems to either new platforms or technologies. * Completely revamped the existing desktop patching system and instituted a new system that was both fault tolerant and stable.
US Bancorp Milwaukee, WI Project Manager, Citrix Metaframe & Portal Technology 02/2001 to 07/2004
* Realigned all new project requests to a standardized methodology that ensures the specific definition of project scope, objectives, testing & certification metrics, implementation & change management plan, and support & maintenance plan.
* Transparently consolidated two NT domains due to dynamic changes in the IT administrative model and goal towards centralized management
* Implemented the distribution of the corporate invoicing and direct debit fee system via Citrix Metaframe. Nfuse portal servers were used to dynamically configure access to over 1,300 users. The project allowed the organization to reduce deployment costs by $1.3 million while accommodating dramatic growth in the user base.
* Implemented the distribution of the retirement services account management system across two entirely separate and incompatible security systems. Citrix Metaframe allowed for over 4 billion in managed assets to be consolidated to a single location, while allowing the user base to function as distributed teams in multiple geographic regions.
* Upgraded over 28 servers to Windows 2000 and re-engineered the architecture from Citrix Metaframe 1.8 to Metaframe XPe. The upgrade was performed under current software subscription licensing, saving the company over $130,000 in future upgrade costs. The upgrade of all server farms was done completely transparently and no outages were incurred.
* Reduced annual licensing and support contracts by $71,500. Eliminated services by developing in-house talent, thus allowing the organization to focus reoccurring costs towards software assurance programs and remaining technologically competitive.
* Implemented remote monitoring software that records servers performance metrics to a SQL database. Capacity and expansion decisions were refocused towards historical trend analysis. Eliminated the purchase of $175,000 of new server hardware based upon the reallocation of current assets and reducing excess capacity.
* Reduced server and application downtime by 14.5% through the implementation of network load balancing and site level fault tolerance.

* Doubled the sized of the IT staff in order to meet changing expectations in a dynamic market. Created standardized job descriptions, salary ranges, and positioned key personnel to appropriate market salary range.
* Responsible for accounting and budgeting all market data feed services throughout seven regional offices. Responsible for establishing a preliminary IT budget and managing assets for an $80 million dollar company.
* Project manager and initiator for Y2K compliance. Redesigned the entire security infrastructure on all file and print servers to conform to documented standards. Implemented a server monitoring and recovery system where administrators are automatically paged if there is any interruption to critical network services.
