EDUCATION: AAS in iSeries Programming from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (1 course remaining)

COMPUTER-BASED EXPERIENCE:
1. Working as a contractor at EMCO Specialties, Inc. from November 2007 to Present.
iSeries Contractor Programmer/Analyst Duties include:
AS/400 programming and analysis in RPG IV ILE on an AS/400.

a. Custom programs for window and door manufacturing
b. Modification of existing software
c. New program design and implementation
d. Handle all iSeries questions and problems

2. Worked at Fiserv, Inc. from January 2007 to August 2007.
Business Analyst and Programming Duties included:
AS/400 programming and analysis in RPG IV ILE on an AS/400.

a. Custom programs for banking system software
e. New program design and implementation
f. Launched and set up brand new system for Fiserv's first-ever iSeries client.
g. Carry a pager to constantly monitor and guide the production control department and it's staff.
h. Created a programming change control system
i. Handle all iSeries questions and problems
j. Researched and set up tape encryption software

3. Worked at Electrolux, Inc. from May 2005 to January 2007
Programming Duties include:
AS/400 programming and analysis in RPG IV ILE on an AS/400.

a. Custom fixes to existing programs
b. New program design and implementation
c. Backup computer workstation and system support.
d. Carry a pager to constantly monitor and repair computer systems and user support both locally and nationally.

4. Worked at Wright Tree Service, Inc. from October 2004 to March 2005.
Programming Duties included:
AS/400 programming and analysis in RPG IV ILE on an AS/400.

a. Modifications and fixes for programs and procedures according to client specifications
b. Created custom programs for the billing and accounting departments
c. Headed the upgrade process from old release to the newest release.

5. Worked at McLeodUSA Publishing, Inc. from April 2003 to September 2004.
Programming Duties included:
Contract AS/400 programming and analysis in RPG IV ILE on an AS/400.

a. Creation of new product programs and procedures.
b. Modifications and fixes for programs and procedures according to client specifications.
c. Worked with XML documents to be used online for various projects.

6. Worked at Quintrex Data Systems, Inc. from August 2002 to April 2003.
Duties included:
Contract programming and analysis in RPG IV on an AS/400 in the TIBS (Telephone and Information Billing System) team.

a. Creation of new product programs.
b. Modifications and fixes for current release.
c. Modifications and fixes by call report to existing code for client specific needs.

7. Worked at ASCEND Technologies, Inc. for 3 1/2 years as a computer
programmer/analyst from December 1998 to July 2002.
Duties included:
* Computer programming and analysis in RPG IV on an AS/400.
a. Writing new code for clients needs on their system on a contract basis using RPG IV and CL.
b. Making modifications to existing code for client needs on a
contract basis.
c. Modifications and fixes for existing code in current and past releases.
d. Creation of new product programs using RPG IV and CL.

a. Helping clients with problems and/or concerns with product.
b. Helping clients with technical issues.
c. Issuing clients access to product web site.
d. Using SQL to correct data problems.

* Installation of new product releases.
a. Making the necessary modifications to clients existing modifications to fit
with product.
b. Running of installation procedures for new product code.

* Installation of products fixes on clients system when they become available.

8. Worked for Apache Hose and Belting Co., Inc. in the MIS department as a computer operator/programmer from September 1994 to December 1998.
Duties included:
* Writing, maintaining, and updating various programs and systems using RPG/400, CL, SDA, and database design in the AS/400 environment
* Used COBOL for various billing tasks
* Various system operation duties
* Running and distributing daily, weekly and monthly reports
* Data entry of customer master, inventory adjustments, and billing
* Installation of hardware and software on IBM compatibles
* Helping users with various computer problems and questions on both the AS/400 and PC
* Worked with the conversion team to move from our old software package to new J.D. Edwards package
* Excelling in all computer courses with a “hands-on” approach in Midrange Systems, specifically AS/400 and RPG/400.

9. Worked in the Data Processing Department at the Quad City Times


SPECIAL PROJECTS:
* Set up Fiserv's first-ever iSeries system for clients
* IBM Certification for AS/400 RPG IV Programmer
* Attended COMMON in San Antonio, Texas in October of 1999.
* Wrote several large reporting programs for a client's specifications, that involved several different product systems (Pledges, Gifts, Planned Gifts).
* Wrote the CAE's (Council for Aid to Education) VSE (Voluntary Support of Education) report. (This is a specific document used to report an organization fund-raising activity).
* Wrote programs to calculate an entity's pledge outstanding balance as of a date entered.
* Worked on fixes for product in all systems and also created specialized program modifications to product on clients' systems.
* Worked on merging new product code to clients' older version while creating specialized program modifications.

SCHOOL HONORS:
* Made Scott Community College President's list in the Fall of 1993
* Made Scott Community College Dean's list in the Spring of 1994
* Carried a major GPA of 3.8 in school while working full time.
