Professional Experience
1. Mitel Networks, Kanata, Canada, Feb 00 - Current.
i. Team Lead (for Team of 8), SIP Development for Mitel ICP3300 (24 months/Current).
* Working closely with PLM team in providing domain input/knowledge in directing the
product roadmap and negotiating content and workload.
* Working closely with Interworking team to manage the cross vendor Interworking and
companies participation with SIPit like forums.
* Managing contribution and content from my team of 8 engineers.
* Merge new technology and customer requirements to provide roadmap for Mitel
products.
* Co-ordinate efforts of various design teams in bringing together new feature from
conceptualisation to deployment by managing roadmap, scheduling efforts and meeting
milestones.
* Creation of design/specification documentation.
* Participated in implementation of SIP based trunk and endpoint (UA) support for Mitel
ICP3300.
* Designed DNS Resolution (A/SRV/NAPTR) Services module for use with ICP3300.
* Manage SOW and submissions for vendor design teams involved in design product
components (e.g. HCLT, Wipro etc.).
* Worked on porting of SIP Module to Linux (from VxWorks).
* Hands on C, C++, TCP/IP and SIP design for VxWorks and Linux.

ii. Project Manager for ICP3300 releases (42 months).
* Participated in Customer requirement analysis (RFP), content negotiation and product
road map for customised product integration.
* Interact with various stakeholders (customer, marketing, senior project manager, design,
verification and NPI) to create a project plan.
* Interface with various design groups to bring together various components of the Product.
* Interface with various down stream groups to plan verification, inter-working, in-house
and external product trail and NPI (New Product Introduction) of the Product.
* Participated in creating processes and workflow norms for efficient product development,
integration and support.
* Manage SOW for vendor design and verification teams involved in design and testing of
product components (e.g. HCLT, Wipro etc.).
* Communicate progress and status to stakeholders.
* Deliver and drive project closure.
* Participated in remote and on-site, trouble-shooting of customer installations. Provide
constructive suggestions on network design for efficient voice and data bandwidth
management over IP Networks.
* Hands on experience on MS-Project and people and resource management.

iii. Team Lead (for Team of 5), Media Control for VoIP IP-Trunking (18 months)
* Led a team of two designers to develop proof of concept for IP-Trunk on Mitel VoIP PBX.
This was to support Mitel's move from the traditional TDM trunking (DPNSS/QSIG/H323)
environment to the IP trunks over Ethernet. This proof of concept was later taken as the
base for final IP-Trunk product development. This feature resulted in huge cost saving to
clients by tunnelling the PBX-PBX connectivity over Ethernet. This design also bridged
between TDM and IP over Ethernet for seamless connection and low cost trunking.
* Participated in Implementation of Toll-Bypass Trunks over ISDN (XNET over PRI for Mitel
SX2000 Product series).
* Managed team of 5 for providing development support for simultaneous product
releases and contribute effectively to the project milestones.
* Participate in creation of system level design and implementation specifications for
features.
* Participated in Design and implementation of Mitel VoIP Media Exchange over IP-Trunk.
The media exchange involves UA capability exchange, selection and management to
support basic call features.
* Worked extensively in TCP/IP, Ethernet, SIP, DPNSS and Mitel Proprietary Protocols.

2. Senior Designer, Contract (July 98 - Jan 00) Corel Corporation, Ottawa, Canada.
a. Senior Designer: Led cross-functional team to develop cross-product filters for Corel Office Suite.
These filters enabled import/conversion of various file formats such as Microsoft

Word/Excel/PowerPoint
into Corel Suite of Products. This is a key feature for customers migrating from Microsoft Products to
Corel Products.
i. Worked closely with development team located onsite and remote team located in India. This role
involved resource management and delivery management.
ii. Responsible for providing product roadmap and writing software requirement specifications,
development and maintenance of import utilities.
iii. Responsible for providing on-site support to various product teams (Draw/WordPerfect/QP).
b. Technology Prime: Responsible for interworking interaction with Microsoft and Adobe.

3. Contract Designer (June 97- Jan 00) CyberQuest Systems, Pune, India.
i. Designer with the "Corel Family and Friends" team.
ii. Single handedly designed and developed LDAP Client for Sun Microsystems.
iii. Designed and Developed GUI for Fax Software on Win CE.
iv. Technology Highlights: TCP/IP, Ethernet, C, C++, JAVA, Windows CE/32 and UNIX.

4. Software Designer (July 96 - May 97) Origin Information Technology, Software Division
of Philips, Netherlands in Mumbai, India.
i. Status Display Processor: This product enabled voice announcements to be made over
geographical distances. Implemented for use at Railway stations in Europe.
ii. Designed and implemented network connectivity module for the Remote-Maintenance of CNC
Machines. This module enables the maintenance technician to remotely connect and diagnose
machines manufactured by the client. This connectivity module consisted of GUI for both sides
participating in this connection. GUI provided easy command execution and diagnostic data
viewing capabilities.
iii. Technology Highlights: C/C++, Windows, Unix, COM, MFC, OLE, Windows NT/95, OS/2 Warp,
UML, DOS32, Zinc GUI Libraries and GreenLeaf Communication Libraries.
