IBM / MATRIX Resources, Work Remotely
Experience with TSM enterprise configuration, backing up over 35 terabytes of data nightly for hundreds of Windows, UNIX, and Mac servers in a highly distributed environment. Familiar with EMC Clariion 300/600 model storage devices and have heavy experience with Dell and IBM tape libraries inclusive of IBM TS3310, IBM 3584, Dell Powervault 132T, 136T, and 160T etc. using LTOx, DLT, SDLT, and 3590/3590e tape drives.
*Performed allocation of storage on ESS Shark and DS8300.
*Day-to-day support of five remote datacenter TSM instances running on AIX and Windows, with tasks inclusive of troubleshooting, upgrades, TSM DB maintenance as well as TSM client tuning; in addition to assisting in support of backup management for corporate data warehouse environment. *Direct responsibility for daily support of several dozen remote Brightstor Arcserve backup servers providing recovery for just under 200 Windows and Mac servers handling about 10 terabytes of data remotely; remediating backup issues as needed.
*Perform restores of customer data as well as assist in complete server recovery due to failures or as part of disaster recovery scenarios using TSM, Brightstor, and BackupExec solutions.
*Develop migration plan and detailed steps for CA Brightstor migration of 90 Arcserve backup servers as well as write operational procedures for daily backup checkouts, problem determination, and file/server recovery steps.
* Provide subject matter expertise for Windows platform backup and recovery configuration as well as in assisting with "server down" recovery situations in addition to basic AIX administration in support of TSM.
*Complete TSM solution build-outs inclusive of base install, library configuration, mgmt classes, storage pools, etc.
*Assisted with the re-architecture of corporate data center TSM environment as part of data center relocation project, trending and analysis of client backup durations and TSM server perfomance in addition to the redirection of server backups to the new TSM AIX environment
*Disaster recovery planning for Intel/WIndows Platform, accounting for procedures, server hardware specs, networking requirements, storage hardware specification, SAN connectivty requirements and data replication for two recovery sites consisting of approximately 60 servers
*Developed and revised tape retention and rotation schemes on TSM and Brightstor Arcserve solutions for data center as well as remote sites.
