The Prime brokerage business deals with setting up the infrastructure for hedge fund managers. The main services provided to the hedge fund managers by a Prime broker are Margin financing, Clearance and Settlement of Trades and Reporting. GSPBIT supports different reporting applications and a trade processing system of GS. Timely reports help GS to compete with its counterparts. Hence, the ultimate focus of the project is on report availability. GSPBIT takes care of various batches which run during New York/London/Asia time and ensure that the reports are delivered on time. Apart from batch support, GSPBIT provides support to users and involved in developing and enhancing existing and upcoming Prime Brokerage Systems and Applications.

Description of the project
Schlumberger has a number of Data Management Products which help oil companies to archive and manage their data related to Oil Exploration and Production. The suite of products helps companies to manage their Seismic data, Asset information, Log information etc. SmartView is an ArcView based browser that allows the user to query the Finder database interactively. SmartView will display the shape files generated from Finder and shape file unloader and by using an ArcView extension. Finder SDE project is aimed to enable Finder to expose its spatial data directly to applications supporting spatial data access via ArcSDE server .This data can be accessed by ArcView directly without having to generate shape file. Among the functionalities supported by the extension are stratography analysis, lease equity, directional survey, production, stacking velocity, display documents and custom well symbols.

The SONET Simulator Software is a simulated SONET environment for understanding the SONET technology. The project deals with generating the SONET frames, transmitting them between two terminals, through LAN, as well as monitoring for errors during transmission and re-transmitting them in case of errors.
