Objective
I am looking for a full time position as an employee or a contractor as a Systems/Software Engineer. My experience has been in software development and operating system configuration.
Summary of qualifications

Teledyne Controls, Inc. is a manufacturer of commercial and military avionics equipment and is based in El Segundo, CA (Los Angeles area). The Teledyne Controls Eagan, MN facility was a small (never more than 25 employees) avionics systems R&D division acquired by Teledyne Controls, Inc. in 2003. This facility was responsible for the design and development of Windows based airborne server and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) systems. I was also the site administrator for the Eagan facility.
My responsibilities included:
* Creating and customizing Windows environments (including XP Embedded) for product systems. These environments were documented with requirement, design, and verification specifications hosted in a DOORs database.
* Developing system software capture and installation processes and procedures using Symantec Ghost. The system installations were from network shares, USB and IDE CD/DVD drives, and USB flash memory drives.
* Developing and implementing system hardware functional test software (VB6, DOS scripts) and procedures that were performed on each production unit prior to system software installation.
* Developing an MS Access 2000 based database application to track software problems from inception through product incorporation.
* Maintaining product software build environments. These build environment were implemented as VM Workstation 5 virtual machines.
* Developing InstallShield projects for airborne server and EFB software components.
* Developing custom VB6 test software for use during DO160 EMI testing.
* Developing and implementing the IT disaster recover plan for the Eagan facility.
* IT site administrator for Eagan facility.

At Guidant, I was a member of the product development, continuation engineering (product maintenance), and Software Quality Assurance departments.
My accomplishments while at Guidant included:
* Software development of Guidant's first microprocessor based pacemaker based on a Motorola microprocessor.
* Software development of Guidant's first microprocessor based implantable defibrillator which was based on the pacemaker above. As part of this project, I was responsible for creation of a PC based test environment which was implemented in C.
* Design and development of a controlled build environment using PolyMake and PVCS installed on a Unix host.
* Performing software quality audits on product software lifecycle documentation to satisfy corporate and FDA requirements.
* Developed and implemented backup and recovery procedures and schedules for computer based production equipment.
