CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS
* Built a White Collar Criminal Defense Office located in Newark, New Jersey, headed then by Mr. Michael Chertoff, the former Assistant Attorney General for the US Department of Justice. Mr. Chertoff is now the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
* Was recently a guest speaker for Microsoft and gave a live web cast entitled: AIM for Control: Tools and Tactics that Simplify Desktop Migration and Systems Management. A copy of the press release may be found here http://www.james-bandes.com/documents/speaker.pdf
* Implemented a national labor and immigration law firm's first-ever virtual private network ("VPN") and voice over IP ("VoIP") infrastructure. The newly created infrastructure replaced an obsolete and costly frame relay design saving the firm over $290,000 dollars in the first year alone on a newly negotiated three year telecommunications contract with Sprint.
* Helped train and educate many attorneys who resist the trend toward electronic discovery and wish to "practice law as usual". With the pending Federal rules about to change, and more and more data being created electronically, education and use of these types of systems will only continue to grow. Moreover, poorly written preservation Orders which do not address things like meta data, will only continue to place firms which do not understand this technology at a serious disadvantage.
* Helped to built a Project Management Office ("PMO") for TD Waterhouse utilizing the five phase Project Management methodology endorsed by the Project Management Institute and the methodology most often implemented by experienced Project Managers worldwide.
* Performed numerous needs analysis and technology reviews to help law firms create advanced litigation support departments. As part of the needs analysis drafted numerous executive summary reports for management which compared and contrasted numerous law firms against their peers and competitors.
* Created, designed and drafted all documents and marketing materials for a global 2.8 Billion dollar consulting firm to assist it with its sale of IT Consulting Services within the domestic United States. Documents included, all Business Plans, Contracts, Statements of Work, Project Plans, Non-Disclosures and joint Teaming Agreements. Sold $318,000 dollars in IT consulting services in 8 months.
* Create well-rounded IT technology teams, which included, Trainers, Call Center Support Specialists, System Engineers, Data Base Managers and Administrators, Network Administrators, Telecommunications Specialists and all other related IT support personnel. Teams are created with a special focus on Customer Service.
* Assisted with the implementation and deployment of a medical solution which captures streaming medical data from dicom or non-dicom imaging devices and generates customized reports. The system provides the data to clinicians in real-time around the world. The system in patent pending and is of course, one of a kind.

QUALIFICATION HIGHLIGHTS
*
Enhanced natural leadership skills obtained through training and experience with measurable results. Contributed to corporate strength by coaching subordinate managers who were later recognized and recruited to manage other units within the firm.
* As the director of information technology for the New York and New Jersey offices of Latham & Watkins, assisted the executive director with 400% growth of the Manhattan Office. The Office grew from 90 attorneys to over 380 after a successful merger with the former Richard Nixon law firm of Mudge Rose Guthrie & Alexander and Ferdon.
* Deployed a new web-based data mining system in several large law firms greatly reducing the amount of time needed to generate year-end reports. The web based "dashboard" portal type system "Handshake" enabled all legal IT systems to be accessed from one central point. The system allowed the firm's data to remain in its native applications and did not require any form of data warehousing or database replication. The system also provided real time access to all legal IT systems within the firm worldwide.
* Lead by example, am objective, care about how I am doing, don't seek the limelight, am firm but fair, listen well and am results oriented.
* Always assume responsibility for my actions, Do what ever I can to achieve success, always willing to learn something new.
