PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), Menlo Park, CA 1999-2008
Senior Software Developer
• Installed, maintained, patched and monitored Remedy ARS to ensure the smooth operation of the Remedy applications used at SLAC. Unexpected downtimes were generally due to power and network issues and great care was taken to coordinate scheduled downtime for patching and migration of enhancements.
• Assessed Out of the Box ticketing systems versus a home grown application for Desktop and Facilities Support groups to ensure the best and most cost effective solution to meet customer requirements. One example is the evaluation of Remedy's HelpDesk application versus a homegrown desktop support application built in Remedy. At the time a homegrown application was viewed the best solution; to not only reduce licensing cost but to deliver a lighter weight application with the ability to expand to meet future needs.
• Designed, developed, implemented and maintained many home grown ARS applications a few of which are ?
o Help Track -- Desktop Support to automate the submission, routing and tracking of requests for computer support.
o Artemis -- Accelerator Operations software and hardware tracking system. This project facilitated the move off an old legacy mainframe system.
o Facilities Service Request System for submitting, assigning and tracking Facilities requests.
o Vehicle Inventory and Mileage Tracking System. This not only facilitated the tracking of vehicle information but saved the Fleet Services department approximately 40+ per month in creating DOE required mileage usage reports.
• Developed custom interfaces for submitting requests to Remedy application using .asp scripts as well as email submissions. By retaining the legacy email accounts users submitted support requests to and having the emails submit automatically the transition to HelpTrack was made transparent to the end user.
• Solved customers' issues with Remedy reporting limitations through custom reports using .asp, Toad, and Oracle Discoverer. The custom reports accessing the data directly allowed for those unique customer requirements not met by Remedy reporting.
Dialog Information Services, Mountain View, CA 1984-1999
