1. Load and Performance Testing
• Load testing all web pages and individual page level components.
• Load testing application servers by simulating the Rhapsody Client protocol.
• Worked closely with server engineers, db ops, and network ops to optimize application servers and databases.
2. Testing all aspects of the Rhapsody Client
• Created test plans and managed Jr. QA Engineers on test cases.
• Tested front end and back end functionality.
• Experience building the product from the ground up and numerous major and minor maintenance releases.
• Responsible for running daily bug meetings with Development and Project Management.
3. Environment
• Servers were running Linux and the application was developed with Java/JSP using Resin. Oracle databases.
• The client was developed for the Windows platform.

• EntryPoint was the next generation product that replaced the PointCast Client. Its components included a tuner bar (thin client), portal website, and backend servers.
• Technical lead for backend servers (RServer) and responsible for testing all aspects of the RServer, including functionality, load/stress, performance, scalability, etc. The RServer ran on top of IIS 4.0 and handled all interactions from the tuner bar and the portal.
• Authored WebLoad scripts for generating load and executing all automated testcases. WebLoad is a load generation program for web based applications.
• Wrote the test plans for the portal and RServer.
• Helped set-up automation with SILK for the portal website.
• NT and Java Caching Managers. The PointCast Caching manager was a server-based application that optimized the flow of information between the PointCast broadcast facility and a corporate intranet, reducing firewall traffic by 85%.
• Assumed lead test position for each of the respective product cycles.
• PointCast Studio was an animation tool that enabled you to create dynamic, high-impact ads and SmartScreens that are used within the PointCast Client. Similar to Macromedia Flash.
• I was responsible for creating the test plan and testing the entire application from start to finish.

• PageMill is a product for creating and managing web sites.
• Responsible for testing site management features, file/site uploading, Java Applet and ActiveX control support, HTML compliance issues, tables, frames, and Netscape plug-in compatibility.
• Created and maintained the QA web server and developed a web front-end for our bug database.
• Tested the tryout version and various localized versions. I was also responsible for tracking issues with beta users.
