NetDecisions (Fluency Voice Technology) Mumbai, India

Fluency Voice Technology is a leading provider of packaged speech recognition applications for use in call centers. Their solutions enable enterprises to significantly reduce costs and enhance customer service by automating much of the high volume call centre activities. Key sectors for which Fluency has developed applications are Financial Services, Travel & Transport, Utilities, Telecoms, Retail & Distribution and Outsourced Contact Centers.
I was working for Fluency Voice Technology as their Test Analyst. Previously a Project based company using in house developed tool to create IVRS system for their clients according to client specific requirements currently moving into off the shelf product based development of a web based IVRS tool configurable by their customers, the VSA (Virtual Speech Agent) Suite.
We used CVS, the version controlled repository for all project documentation and code and Bugzilla, a Defect Tracking system used for recording and tracking of defects.
Load Testing using Open STA and Functional Testing using Selenium a freeware tool proposed by me and used for functional testing of Web pages by their QA team here.

My work here involved:
1. Creation of Functional Test Plans and Test Cases, Integration Test Plans and Load Test Plans from Design Documents and Functional Specifications/ Flow Diagrams.
2. Analysis of Functional specifications and recommendations for change taken and adopted by the development team right from the Requirements gathering phase for their product
3. Creation of User/System Flows for testing and writing test cases using MS Visio tool sent across to be used at the clients end for testing as a model to be used.
4. Tested calls using HTTP, PSTN, H323 Signaling Protocol, VoIP, SIP, using Nuance Recognition Engine, using IBM Voice Stack, use of VXML, CCXML, IBM RDC
5. Deployed and Tested on Tomcat, JBoss, Websphere, WebSphere Voice Servers, WebSphere Ver5.0, WebSphere Express, etc
6. Tested on MSSql Server, IBM DB2, Address Capture Databases like CapScan, etc
7. Also tested for Contact /Payement Capture, IDVS and Locator Selector Applications.

Saba Software India Pvt. Ltd Mumbai, India

Projects: Saba HCDM (Human Capital and Development Management) software, which provides a comprehensive solution for managing human capital across the extended enterprise on 18 locales. These are implemented both as a Web Application as well as a Standalone product. They are
1. Saba Enterprise Learning (SEL)
2. Saba Enterprise Performance (SEP)
3. Saba Enterprise Analytics (SEA)

Clients: Ford, Procter & Gamble, Cisco Systems, General Motors, Standard Chartered Bank, Veritas, EDS, Nissan, Aventis, and Amazon.com among others.

Technology: The QA side uses SILKTEST as an Automation Tool. CLARIFY for Bug Reporting and Management, CVS and VSS for Configuration Management.
Development side implements J2EE with an addition of proprietary Saba Server Pages (a blend of Jscript & JSP), XML and Visual Basic (for client-server implementation) with Oracle8i and 9i & SQL Server. Testing on MS Internet Explorer 5.0/6.0, Netscape Operating System MS 2K.
Silk Test Versions Used: Silk Test 5.0.3 and Silk Test 1.0.3 and 6.0.3 International

I have worked on the SEL (Saba Enterprise Learning) product and have handled a team of 9 under me to help with their releases of the package not only in English locale but also French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, etc (all in all released it on 18 locales including the ones mentioned). I have also worked on all the patches and service pack releases on various locales.

My Roles: Quality Engineer, performing following roles:

1. Writing Test Documents
2. Automation of Test Cases
3. Manual Testing
4. Setting up machines on Websphere, Web Logic, JRun, Visual Basic (for client-server implementation) and preparing databases in SqlServer and Oracle8i and 9i for Automation
5. Installer Testing of SEL for various Locales
6. I18N Testing on Locales. (Key member of Language-Regression team of 9 members for making build and service pack releases)
7. Headed F9 team (of 5 people) for making few important scripts to run unattended
8. Mentoring new Interns and introducing them to automation and Saba processes
9. Bug Verification - Reporting and Management, and Change Control using CLARIFY and CVS and VSS for Configuration Management.
10. Conducted a presentation on 'Beyond Performance Testing' for the QA Dept. of Saba
11. Also suggested importance of consistency in screens (Style Sheets) and functionality patterns which is at present being considered and made a deliberate effort to be taken care of right at the code level.

January 2004 - June 2004 (Project)
Camellia InfoTech (A Camlin Group Company):

1. Developed individually a Time Sheet Application for the employees of the company using JavaScript, JSP, JavaBeans and MySQL which is being currently used by them and has been uploaded on the site (Feb - April '04).
2. Also made modifications and added new forms according to requirements on their existing WMS system (www.camsims.com).
Technical Writing:
Documented the entire User Manual of the Sales and Distribution Network System developed in-house for Camlin, Sandu Pharmaceuticals, and other clients of Camellia InfoTech.

May 2003 -- October 2003
Air India (Project)
This is the CMBS (Contributory Medical Benefit Scheme) System. It involved analyzing and designing using Structured System Analysis and Design after which it has been designed using VB as front end and SQL -- Server 2000 as backend. It checks the medical claims given by the employees of Air India and by their relatives and gives the data reports on the balance amount of the total benefit given to them.
