Primarily responsible for the independent quality assurance (IV&V) reviews of projects' processes and products in the SSA's primary systems IT organization. Work with Project Managers and Planning Personnel to help keep projects on track for success. Perform audits of large and small scale high-profile projects across several components. Review and modify existing Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process for the entire organization. Participate in and lead workgroups in reviewing, modifying, and/or creating processes and directives for the OS SDLC. Edit submitted information intended to modify the SDLC in order to conform to existing activities and processes and be readily usable to project managers and team members. Train project managers, planning personnel, and other Information Technology related personnel in the SDLC processes, procedures, standards, guidance, and products required for SSA project development.

Initial member of a newly formed Independent Verification & Validation (IVV) team for the Department of Labor's Wage and Hours Division -- IT branch, tasked with helping the reorganization of the department and developing its processes. Created and implemented an IV&V plan to encompass both full start-to-finish SDLC activities as well as ad hoc and in-progress development. Analyzed tasks, researched information, determined that best course of action for responses, and documented the entire process. Acted as the IV&V subject matter expert and plan author while presenting the IV&V team and its tasks and expectations throughout the branch's employees and management as well as to all contractors and external entities as the organization refocused its IT practices.

Intepros Federal /Social Security Administration -- Woodlawn, Md.

Managed a team comprised of contract testers and SSA analysts in the validation (testing) process of a high-profile project expected to detect billions of dollars of fraudulent SSA claims through the initial two releases. Organized and trained members to master and test a web-based application designed to convert/replace legacy mainframe and paper-driven processes as well as integrate the new product with a third party business partner. At the same time became the primary reviewer/Subject Matter Expert between test, analysis, and development for all requirements being developed and Quality Control processes and systems. Performed solution architect duties by creating detailed system scenarios to provide analysts, testers, and developers one-stop guidelines for building requirements, code, and test cases. Acted as the coordinator for initial review, assignment, and tracking of all defects throughout the project's defect process. Trained new team members on both the legacy and new systems as well as brought them to understand the requirements and system operations. Tasked to provide training in formal SSA training sessions to new employees as well as execute demonstrations for peripheral users. Provided analysis and testing support to additional projects and provided expert knowledge in efforts to automate testing. The project resulted in the complete upgrade of all hard- and software components within the system. A hands-on test manager position requiring determination of the test schedules, resource usage, test strategy, and defect processes. Worked with other team leads and external subject matter experts to determine release schedules & testing expectations, and interfaced with management to ensure delivery of an accurate reproduction of the current production system. Created all test related documentation, test strategies & plans; data needs; and the test cases. With no training material available, self-taught the functionality of the system and then trained additional personnel to use the system to improve testing. Oversaw the process for automating future testing efforts: identified tools; designed test data; determined execution strategy.
