Monitor Unix Servers running SUN Solaris 8 & 9 in a 24 X 7 datacenter supporting approx 600 SUN Servers. Performed maintenance on high availability servers running SUN and VERITAS Cluster. Managed the User and Application Account creations and deletions for the SUN Servers. This includes setting up SUDO access for DBA and application account access. Modify and used shell scripting to improve monitoring of the servers. Did daily checks and disk space cleanup on assigned servers using Disksuite and VERITAS Volume manager. Started taking the SUN courses on Solaris 10.

Also worked on the HPUX team supporting HPUX 10.20, 11.0 and 11.i. HP support included both OS and application support. Maintained high availability of the HP servers with HP Service Guard. Set up the batch processing with Tivoli MAESTRO and was the first line contact for any batch processing or application errors. Worked on project teams to bring in new applications which included working with the technical writer on the documentation and training of the operations team.

Took initiative in evaluating opportunities and in establishing internal customer relationships by meeting with the application and development teams on a regular basis. Help create a process improvement plan for one of our high availability applications by cross training teams in the monitoring and escalation of the application. The plan also included working with development to have solutions for the application to eliminate down time. Also, worked with the technical writing staff to create clear documentation of the application processes.
