Summary: NDIA Certified Configuration and Data Manager with 6 years experience in the Commercial Aerospace Industry. Technical Knowledge:
Facilitated the use of the Agile PDM System for the Commercial Space Division. Acted as Point of Contact and Liaison between the Engineering and Agile Technical Support staff to establish the Agile processes required to comply with established Commercial Space procedures and proprietary processes.
Managed the engineering documentation required during the program life cycle which included Configuration Identification, Product Baseline, Product Structure, Program Reviews and Audits, Configuration Status Accounting including metrics, As-Designed/ As-Built reconciliation and proprietary document control. Documentation releases were executed within eight hours or less with an Engineering Change Order count of 2.0 or less per document for the life of the program. The program achieved the delivery and budget schedule as required by the customer and completed all program reviews and audits with no Major Findings.
Established and documented the required steps to migrate historical company and program electronic documentation from program servers to the Agile PDM system. This process included creating PDF files, examining and repairing file names and creating the spreadsheets for object metadata and file attachments. The process of identifying and correcting data errors enables the company to maximize the data transferred for the budget allowed by reducing the need for individual file transfer by 90%.
Assisted Harness Design group in cloning existing test cables using CAD for migration into the Agile PDM system. This included working with the engineers in the harness division to correct known errors in previous releases and adding information to comply with the changes in process that had occurred since the initial releases.
Communication Skills:
Led the training of the engineering staff to promote the changes in the processes from hard copy release to electronic release with one-on-one contact and step-by-step documented instructions. Worked with the Agile Tech Support team to identify and resolve issues found within the PDM system during the transition of the Commercial Space SBU into the Agile PDM system.
Participated in training sessions used to prepare for the NDIA Certification exam. This included volunteer lunch time sessions and after hour department group training offered by the C&DM lead. The training was based on the knowledge of Mil-Stds, Mil-Handbooks and ISO approved documents.
Researched and documented information for the following:
• Agile Data Load Instructions System Engineering Report-The steps required to facilitate the loading of electronic documentation into the Agile PDM system for future data migrations.
• CSO Document Control Procedure Systems Engineering Report- A revision to further supplement the documentation reproduction, consolidation and distribution process required for Commercial Space.
• Manufacturing Flow White Paper-The documentation used to relay the methods and processes used to build flight and STE hardware.
• Metrics White Paper-Identify the purpose of metrics and the pitfalls of metrics that are not well defined as indicated by the Six Sigma process in preparation for a process improvement initiative for Configuration and Data Management.
• Metrics Technical Working Group-Lead the process improvement group to identify the metrics required to support the Configuration and Data Management Department.
• Functional and Physical Configuration Audit Technical Working Group Assist in the requirements to conduct the FCA/PCA for BATC per Mil Std 1521.
