Professional Experience August 2006 -- February 2007 Internet Commerce Corporation Setauket, NY Senior Software Engineer Senior software engineer for a multi-tier real-time document management system called icc.net. This system was used for managing and routing EDI documents. This system was written in Core Java and used Microsoft SQL server as the database. Development tools used were Eclipse IDE, Ant Scripts, bugzilla for bug tracking and PVCS for version control. The client base included retail stores who exchanged documents (PO,Invoice,Shipping Notices.. etc) with suppliers. This system used a custom application server called Everest. Solely responsible for Full-Life Cycle Development for enhancing the translation service of the icc.net system to integrate with a 3rd party tool called Ascential DataStage by IBM. The phases included design, development, testing and support. The translation service was responsible for transforming documents into different formats. Modification of web page to display translation errors using HTML and stored procedures.
June 2002 -- August 2006 Unisys New York, NY Senior Consultant Created Technical Development for a three tier web-based purchasing system using Core Java , SQL, JavaScript. This system was created for various clients in government industries. Key activities included design, development, testing, and implementation of these enhancements. This purchasing system was integrated with the client's back-end system. Back-end systems included Oracle, SQL server or legacy systems. This system was used for requisitioning, purchasing and invoicing. Used JDBC and Oracle Stored Procedures to manipulate database. Orders were sent to the vendors in cXML format.
QA manager responsible for creation of 500 page system test plan and first article test plan of a RFID system. Responsibilities include development of test materials as well as planning and execution of the test plan for a vehicle tracking system for the release to the US Postal Service. This system utilized wireless RFID technology to perform vehicle tracking by installing devices on vehicles to transmit and receive data. Further, this system incorporates productivity planning, electronic OSHA pre-tour checklists, electronic OSHA Supervisor Evaluations, VC PIT training records, abuse accountability, and maintenance data.
Managed a team of five people to collect and create user data, system data, vendor data, and training data and convert purchase orders from legacy system to new procurement system. DC public schools wanted to bring 160+ schools and 60+ programs live. Created communication plan and letter that was sent to 3300+ vendors to let them know of this new initiative and how they will be impacted. Led a team of four to contact 3300+ vendors to confirm existing vendor profile information and collect additional information required for this new system. Managed team hours and scope against effort defined in the Statement of Work. Led a user data consultant to defined and document user profile data and system data requirements. Worked with outreach team to collect user data from 220+ schools and programs. Created and validated data using MS Access. System data included address information, data roles, permissions, and dollar thresholds. Defined Amex data reporting requirements. Defined training data requirements and created data set that was used for the end user training environment. Provided guidance on training materials and training exercises that were used for end user training. Managed a consultant to support me in my responsibilities to convert 300 purchase orders from legacy system to the new purchasing system. Created presentation and defined the approach for manual conversion of 300 purchase orders.
March 1999 -- June 2002 Arthur Andersen LLP New York, NY Senior Consultant Selected Experience Technical Team Lead of the UI Implementation of Ariba Buyer for Sun Chemical. Key activities included design, development, and implementation of UI enhancements for integration with the Ariba Buyer System, supervising consultants, issue resolution, integration with a legacy system, technical development. An additional phase included developing training material and conducting training classes. Technical Team Lead on an Ariba implementation for Arch Chemicals. Key activities included project management, supervising consultants, issue resolution, integration with SAP, technical development and technical training. Implementation was conducted in three phases including: Pilot Implementation for 100+ users, MRO and Travel and Expense. Team Lead for a reporting system, which helped clear backlogged orders for AT&T. Led several design sessions to identify and define requirements and objectives for the client. Key Activities included managing report requests, designing solutions, developing, documenting and distributing the reports. Client was a large telecommunications company. This system was designed using Access and Oracle. Lead technical developer for the external web site Medsprout.com using Vignette Story Server 5.0. The target audience for this web site was health care professionals. The site provides guidelines on how to operate a healthcare practice such as setting up an IT infrastructure and negotiating with insurance companies. Other technologies used for this site were HTML, JavaScript, Tcl 8.2 and SQL Server 7.0. Technical Team Lead for a Revenue Storage system for a Joint Venture between AT&T and British Telecom. This system was developed using an Oracle Database with a Visual Basic front-end. My responsibilities included development of all Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures. In addition, I led a successful training effort of the system to the client's technical team. Assisted in a web-based learning project at Petry Media College. My responsibilities included design and development of web pages, developing graphics, quality assurance testing and review of content. HTML pages were developed using the Dreamweaver tool. The project consisted of 13 courses on various topics. The training curriculum was targeted toward an audience of novice Sales Assistants.
Sept 1997 -- March 1999 Intouch Management System Melville, NY Software Engineer Software Engineer for a leading software company that developed billing software for paging companies. Aspects of the system include invoicing, paging terminal communication, inventory and accounts receivables. Converted an international client's billing system into the firm's billing system. This project involved data analysis, data conversion, and system installation and working extensively on site with the clients. Enhanced and created several interfaces between a billing system and a paging terminal. A paging terminal is a device by which pagers get programmed and paged. This system was written in C on a UNIX platform.
July 1995 -- Sept 1997 PowerCenter Systems Inc. Uniondale, NY Senior Programmer Senior developer for Power Center System developing an ERP solution for hospitals. This product was designed to enable hospitals to control their expenses. The product was a Client/Server system utilizing an Oracle database. This was a multi-integrated system, which included purchasing, Accounts Payable, Inventory Control, Receiving, operating room scheduling, budgetary control, etc. System was written in C and compiled using Visual C++. Led a successful effort of integrating this product with bar coding software from Symbol Technologies. This effort led to an ease of use of inventory management for our clients.
