PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Kelly Educational Services, Duval County Schools Substitute Teacher, 2007-present
Work as a substitute teacher in the Duval County (Jacksonville), Florida school district. I have obtained my temporary license to teach mathematics for grades 6-12.
Florida Farm to School Program, New North Florida Cooperative, Inc., Salesperson and Policy Lead Southern District and Florida School Coordinator, 2008-2009
Work in collaboration with the National Farm to School Program to set policy for the School Lunch Program and other issues associated with bringing fresh fruits and vegetables to school children. Link small local farmers with school districts. Also, obtain new clients/grocers interested in stocking local farmers vegetables.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration, John H Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field, Brook Park, Ohio, Computer Scientist, 1989-2007
In all of this work, I was involved in the requirements, documentation, development, testing, production and maintenance phases of these projects.
Project Management • Icing Data Information Technology System, 2002-2003 Team lead and programmer. System developed using Visual Basic to download data from test facility accounts to desktop PCs. System allows researchers to create pretest matrices and then collect the post test data for processing. Also included in this system are test plans, pretest surveys, run reports and test operator instructions.
• Data Collector Information System, 1997-2006 Team co-lead and programmer. System developed using Perl. Crucial experimental data is stored and maintained using this system. Received several awards for the reliability and functionality of DCIS. The system has been in a state of continuous production and no data has ever been lost.
• Icing Research Tunnel, 1995-2002 Developed a standardized real-time data acquisition system program using FORTRAN. This “generic” program allowed more than 100 (and still counting) tests to be run without any “down-time” in the facility over a 7 year period.
• International Space Station, Support Equipment Software Lead for the Electrical Power System, 1990-1991 Project manager. Managed contractors as they used ADA to develop the software that controlled the EPS support equipment (hardware). Reviewed software deliverables for integrity. All deliverables were completed on time and within the set budget.
Project Teams • ESCORT Data Systems Development, 1999-2006 Data Acquisition System, Systems Programmer. Maintained legacy real-time data acquisition and reduction code used in test facilities to collect crucial experimental data. This system has won awards with N.A.S.A. for providing unusual capabilities in the real time environment.
• ESCORT Applications Programmer, 1989-1990, 1992-2006 Data Acquisition System, Applications Programmer. Worked directly with researchers in the development phase of requirements. Also, assisted in implementing and post processing the experimental data and storing it as legal record. Worked in test environments for aeronautics and aerospace projects.
• SPACE Programmer, 1999 Assisted in writing an algorithm that determined the position of the International Space Station solar arrays with respect to the sun and the amount of energy that was being stored in the electrical system batteries.
