AUTOMATIC DATA PROCESSING (ADP), Dayton, NJ 2003 - 2007
Provider of premier, mission-critical, cost-effective transaction processing and information-based business solutions, with over $7 billion in revenues and more than 570,000 clients worldwide.

Director, EasyPay Application Development
Supervised teams of 24 developers and 10 consultants to ensure maintenance, enhancement and compliance of EasyPay, the company's core payroll application servicing 380,000 clients.

* Saved $2.5 million annually: Consolidated printing of payroll/quarterly reports to high-speed printers. Developed the project plan for the incremental conversion of print programs to output either print data (for local printing) or print stream file data to be transmitted to a mainframe and printed on a high speed roll feed printer.
* Led the initial automated conversion of 2600 clients' data: Completed on time with 100% of new client's data converted and integrated into the EasyPay data file structure. Client retention was maintained at above 80%. Managed 4 additional conversion using the same process, tools, and methodology with from between 300 to over 20,000 clients being successfully converted.
* Reduced deployment 'roll-out' time for production service center systems from 11 weeks to 3 weeks: Although acceptable to the business, the deployment time was not acceptable to me. A review of the process and requirements indicated where improvements could be and were made.
* Established an off-shore development team and reduced developer costs by 80%: Traveled to Hyderabad, India to establish and select the team. Based on the success of the initial 5 team members, grew the team to 8 members.
* Instituted a code modernization project: Moved the EasyPay application code base from RPG II (System/36 based) to RPG ILE (System i based) with embedded SQL capabilities having directed a detailed analysis of the entire EasyPay application code which showed there were over 3800 separate programs of which over 2100 were in RPG II format needing to be modernized.
* Reduced the number of program object libraries from 7 to 1: Implemented library simplification project. Improved the EasyPay code development, management and distribution via Aldon's CMS by reducing the number of source code and program object libraries. Reduced system backup resources.
* Reduced the set aside needed for possible tax penalties by $800,000: Integrated the Vertex Sales Tax product into EasyPay to ensure proper sales tax calculations. Supervised the phased deployment to all production, QA and development systems.
* Improved year-end processing, reducing the number of clients affected from 6,000 in 2002 to fewer than 100 in 2006: Proactively ensured that previous year-end issues were fully resolved by working with the service centers to ensure all issues identified were analyzed and corrected.

* Saved $16 million for Montgomery Securities: Led the team to implement a data warehouse to support in-house reporting. Developed the program specifications for conversion of the received data into a standard AS/400 delimited physical file structure for loading into a relational database structure developed on the AS/400 using DB2. Integrated the Unity application on a Solaris (UNIX) system and the AS/400 to provide users with a GUI application interface and report writer.
* Increased inventory turn 300% in 2 months for French Fragrance Inc.: Managed the ERP upgrade, including forecasting capability, improving demand forecast through analysis of daily sales activity. Integrated the selected forecasting tool, Logility Value Chain Solution (LVCS), into the FFI application architecture.
* Implemented a 150-person call center for Discount Auto Parts: Evaluated potential software, developed a warehouse inventory/order processing system, and created a seamless support environment and all call center support systems for more than 400 stores.
* Reduced data warehouse extraction, transformation and load time for Host Marriott International from 21 hours to 4.5 hours: Implemented a data warehouse in an Informix database using a star schema on an RS/6000 system supporting corporate financial requirements.

Director, Business Application Development

Consulted on moving the IT infrastructure across country and migrating from a multi-mainframe environment to a single system. Managed a technical staff of 36 employees and up to 12 contract programmers, supporting more than 3,500 users in more than 80 locations worldwide.
* Saved $12 million annually: Changed the operational infrastructure and eliminated more than 1,500 application shortfalls while converting the company from a mainframe environment to an AS/400 environment.
* Improved booking revenue by over $500K in 3 months: Implemented a cost management system that allowed business users to determine the potential profitability of opportunities when weighed against developed norms.
