Created and support web-based applications using PHP and MySql databases to provide information to the user community as well as for internal communications. Configured and maintained Joomla website and supported modules for Internet site. Edited and maintained HTML and CSS code for personal websites.
Linux Administration Developed numerous Perl scripts to support system administration tasks for user systems, critical network perimeter systems and scientific processing systems. Provided advanced technical support for over 1200 users on over 3000 systems running Redhat, Debian, Mandrake and Suse Linux. System administration responsibility for 1800 node Linux clusters supporting scientific experiments. Responsible for the administration and maintenance of Linux proxy servers supporting entire campus Internet access. Responsible for perimeter e-mail gateways providing communications to windows and UNIX based servers and workstations.
Information Security Coordinated with engineers from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in developing new tools to improve Information Security training for System Administrators in the Department of Defense. Developed and instructed courses in defense in depth architectures to include network perimeter protection, ports, protocols, and services management, and secure computing environments. Instructed courses in Windows and UNIX based DNS security. Created and delivered courses in network and system vulnerability assessment, including interrogating web based services.
