Very experienced and diversified IT professional with 16 years experience in the software development life cycle (SDLC). Working as an independent consultant over the last 11 years has given me experience in all roles of the SDLC in both management and subordinate roles, working both independently and as part of a team.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Hemmingway Development Group Limited -- Business Owner 1998 to 2009

o Performing SDLC support services. Duties include new account development, customer management, stakeholder identification, requirements analysis, product planning and scheduling, design, development and support, managing projects and client expectations.

o Significant projects include the following;

? Developer and user / technical writer for commercial off the shelf Dialysis Data Management system for a US pharmaceutical company (Medical) written in VB6, VB.Net and SQL Server. The software conformed to HL7 standards and was HIPAA compliant.
? Enterprise job costing, project management and billing system for A&B Sound (Retail) installed in Calgary and Vancouver offices of the Custom Installations Group. This was a large project with a small team executed over several years. This system was written in VB6, MS Access and SQL Server with tie in to MS Exchange server. This system allowed the division to operate with its own business model, which differed greatly from the retail business model.
? Software and firmware assessment on a military project for General Dynamics Canada (Military / Engineering). The role was project managing the collection, completion and presentation of all year 2000 compliance information for each intelligent component of the communications system project. Information was gathered and documented from engineers, managers, and third party vendors. This was one of the few milestones achieved on this contract. Level 2 (Secret) clearance was granted.
? Various small projects were also completed during this time in upstream oil and gas, mining, forestry, financial, non-profit, college and university departments. Many projects were created or supported using MS Access version 1.0 to version 2007, VB6, VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server and SSRS.

• Classic Canadian Software Corporation - 1993 to 1998

o Software developer and account manager. Duties included stakeholder identification, requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, quality testing, integration testing, demonstration and training.

o Significant projects include the following;

? Business Analyst, Developer and Sales for Personnel, Training and Safety system for upstream oil and gas. This project was created entirely in MS Access with some VB and VBA. This system was installed in most of the top 10 drilling contractors in the country at the time. The key to its success was using payroll hours, job code and rig to calculate service days, safety days, safety day holds and resets, safety and service awards.
? Business Analyst and contributor to the development of an electronic tour sheet.
? Supporting developer on Drilling Contract Marketing system and Billing system
