Selected Accomplishments

* Implemented retail and back office systems enabling DeBeers to launch their first retail outlet a major milestone in the companies life
* Developed Disaster Recovery / business Continuity Plan for DayMen US to reduce potential down time from 6-8 weeks to 12 to 36 hours.
* Secured DeBeers LV global data and telecoms infrastructure to ensure that financial transactions could be safely conducted throughout the world.

DayMen / Lowepro, Sebastopol, CA (Sep 2006 -- Feb 2009) - Director of IT
Overall responsibility for IT systems and best use of technology.

New ERP System.
* Oversaw the implementation of a single ERP to reduce costs and streamline the consolidated accounting to integrate company systems worldwide
* Played pivotal role in the selection of Microsoft Great Plans after extensive review of options in the market and collection of all local requirements
* Planned a step-by-step roll-out to minimize the risk to the company by successfully installing system first in Canada for the International business then began installation for the local distribution in the USA
* Implementations were completed on time and within budget

Merged acquired systems
* Integrated new brands to the DayMen infrastructure.
* Worked with local and overseas vendors to ensure that the business and technical process flow was smoothly transitioned.

Implemented e-commerce
* Investigated partners to provide a suitable e-commerce platform and reviewed bids.
* Selected appropriate partner and acted as the main point of contact
* The site was successfully launched on time and within budget.
* Rolled out e-commerce internationally for multiple brands. (Lowepro, Came Made, Camera Armor)

Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity.

* Formulated the key RPO's (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO's (Recovery Time Objective) with business input.
* Worked with vendors to find the most cost effective solution to ensure the business could continue in the event of a disaster

* Developed fail-over and redundancy procedures to ensure that all mission critical systems have a 99%+ up time.
* Developed and implemented policies covering acceptable usage of IT systems, security and support.

De Beers LV, (Jan 2002 -- Jun 2006) - Information Technology Manager
Responsibility for ensuring that the new DeBeers retail endeavor was supported technically both front of house and back office.

* Brought in by DeBeers during joint venture with LVMH group to open retail stores throughout the world to ensure all technology was implemented to allow truly high end stores to open
* Developed custom systems, such as the “Beauty Scan” and “diamond Viewer” to enhance the customer experience.

First Store Opening.
* Overcame over run in the building and shop fitting along with a hard opening date to install of systems into the store.
* Tested security systems to offer full protection while maintaining a pleasing ascetic look.
* Intrusion tested Wireless VoIP phone systems to ensure that customer conversations were secure.
* Trained users on new and in some cases very technical items of equipment.
* Careful management the project timelines and resources ensured that all systems were in place and fully functional before the grand opening.

Office Move.
* Decision to move office was made only 8 weeks prior to the renewal date of the existing lease forcing a very tight timeline with selected office space to move into was a green field site.
* Used experience with setting up offices to get the necessary work done to allow for the move in date to be successfully met
* Completed the move with less than one day system down time and under budget

US Move
* Promoted and transferred to the US to project manage opening of head office and stores.
* Planned and sourced data and voice cabling, VoIP telephone system and ensured timely availability of required IT infrastructure.
