Electrical Mechanical Repair Technician Years Employed (2005-2008)
Dell Austin, Texas

EMR Technician responsible for repair, cosmetic appearance and functionality of Desktops and Notebooks for resale. This involves the use of many databases in order to investigate failures and then diagnosis for repair followed by testing the computers for shipment.
Teardown Technician responsible for the removing of Dimms, Processors, Opticals, Batterys, and Motherboards from each computer. Then labeling and packaging of each part for testing/use.
Techknow Technician responsible for blowout, repairing, testing, and wipedown of donated Desktops internally within Dell for a special program setup by Dell for less fortunate students.
Engineering Technician/Analyst responsible for determining failure trends on new and existing Desktop and Labtop computers by verifying functional failures and labeling them for futher analysis by the Specialist and Engineering Dept. This also involved validating new existing revisions on new product for label and repair by technicians.
Fasttrack Technician responsible for the removal of hard drives, windows licensing labels, and determining if unit qualify's for Fasttrack or Teardown.

Electronic Technician II responsible for repair of numerous diverse and technical Motion Control, Data Acquisition, and Instrumentation AT/PCI/PXI computer boards.
Final Verification Tester/Technician responsible for verifying test setups are functioning with Property of Test board, if not debug until functional or create detailed issue in database for Test Engineering Department . Then work with engineers to resolve issue. Then once boards are tested and logged into Oracle database, tag failures for repair at later time. Debugging of failed boards down to component level using schematics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, test software and sometimes use of Teradyne/GenRad ICT machines also use of X-Ray machine for shorts or opens under BGA chips.
Reworker/Partrunner responsible for ordering and retrieval of parts using Oracle database to locate parts in Stockroom. Then Level I/II rework which requires removal and placement of parts on boards using soldering iron, solder, flux, and microscope for through hole and suface mount parts to IPC standards.
Continous Flow Manufacturing Technician responsible for support of certain CFM lines so when problems occur that stop production then we determine by debugging the test setup and QC of boards where the problem occurred in the line and fix it so as to not repeat mistake in production. Then record and pass on to following shifts using databases for future reference.
Quality Control responsible for the inspection of each board before functional testing to look for reversed, shorted, open, misaligned, and wrong parts that cause damage to the board or test setup.
Mechanical Assembler responsible for assembly and disassembly of complex products.
