SCOPE OF THESIS
My thesis project implements a Bill Payment System. The system was implemented using a 3-tier, distributed architecture. The first tier consists of the user interface implemented as a Java application. The second tier consists of a set of business objects with Java interfaces. The user interface uses RMI as the communication mechanism to invoke operations on the business objects. The third tier utilizes a relational database with a JDBC interface. The business objects in the second tier uses JDBC to store and retrieve state information from the third tier.
