MANAGING DIRECTOR, Engineering & Installation Group, 2004 -- 2006
Increased operational readiness of Air Force and Department of Defense elements through design, delivery, project management, and maintenance of integrated information systems. Provided outstanding leadership of 600 support staff and 2,300 operational team members across 19 national locations. Managed $9M budget and projects totaling over $71M. Directed entire acquisition process for IT actions ranging between $10M-$32M annually. Served as Source Selection Authority for IT actions between $10M-$500M and Justification and Approval Authority for actions between $57M-$78M. Selected accomplishments:
• Hand-selected by Department of State officials to serve as Program Manager for $50M comprehensive telephone switch upgrade projects spanning numerous worldwide locations.
• Recipient of the highly coveted Outstanding Unit Award for strong leadership in completing 172 highly complex technical projects in one year.
• Drove several process improvements and “best practices” that were adopted Air Force-wide.
• Instrumental in development and deployment of Geographic Information System (GIS) modeling and mapping software and technology


PROGRAM DIRECTOR, Air Education & Training, 2002 -- 2004
Provided strong technical leadership of projects totaling over $1B across 13 national locations. Developed and implemented solutions for communications, data processing, small and networked computer systems, visual information, electronic publishing, radio, telephone, cable, and Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS). Selected accomplishments:
• Provided strategic leadership in annual PC refresh, expertly negotiating for $3M in savings, and enabling the purchase of an additional 4,000 PCs above original order.
• Dramatically reduced expenses and leveraged $200K in year-end funds to replenish navigational equipment in key locations.
• Negotiated for $12M in unbudgeted funding to upgrade runway control systems at several training bases.
• Spearheaded effort to repair damaged radar system needed for detection of tornados and other weather elements. Full capability restored within six hours of initial problem identification.
• Recognized for solid management of ATCALS and achieving 98% reliability; named “Department of Defense Best.”


PROJECT DIRECTOR, Support Group, 2000 -- 2002
Led 2,600 employees across five departments in providing critical support of information systems, security, civil engineering, fire protection, housing, utilities, and other services for more than 100,000 military members. Served as active member of Financial Management Board. Selected accomplishments:
• Received 17 “Excellent” ratings during Command Inspection, with Reviewer noting that the “level of detail in decision-making and overall responsiveness were best seen to date.”

MANAGING DIRECTOR, Communications Squadron, 1998 -- 2000
Supervised team of 300 military, civilian, and contract employees in providing key communications, systems, air traffic control, and information systems management support to 20,000 military team members assigned to the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center. Managed a $7M budget. Selected accomplishments:
• Recognized for outstanding efforts in “planning, acquiring, and executing with tight resources” in role as Chief Operating Officer of Air Logistics Center Information Management Business Area.
• Flawlessly led squadron during massive A-76 competitive sourcing; augmented contractor with civilian/military manpower to salvage failing performance and deteriorating efforts in key mission areas.
• Took initiative to self-install critical instrument landing system one year ahead of planned implementation, saving organization $30K and greatly enhancing runway capabilities.
