PROJECTS
- Rapid Prototyping
Responsibilities:
• Part of a 4 member team for making a plastic mould using Rapid-Prototyping. • Take virtual designs from Computer Aided Design (CAD) or animation modeling software and transform them into cross sections. • The machine reads in data from a CAD drawing, and lays down successive layers of liquid or powdered material, and in this way builds up the model from a series of cross sections. These layers, which correspond to the virtual cross section from the CAD model, are glued together or fused (often using a laser) automatically to create the final shape.
- Tolerance analysis of linear dimensional chains.
Responsibilities:
• Tolerance analysis, synthesis and optimization of a dimensional chain using the arithmetic "WC" (Worst case) method. • Analysis of a dimensional chain deformed as a result of temperature change. • Extended statistic analysis of dimensional chain using the "6 Sigma" method. • Tolerance analysis of a dimensional chain using the "Worst case" method.
- Thermal Analysis of Super-Alloys
Responsibilities:
• Studied Haynes alloys, TMS alloys, and CMSX single crystal alloys. • Measured mechanical strength, creep resistance, surface stability, corrosion and oxidation resistance at high temperatures. • Thorough Knowledge about Diffusion Coatings, Pack Cementation Process, Gas-Phase coating.
- Design and Manufacturing of Go-Kart
Responsibilities:
• Made virtual model of the Go-Kart using Pro-Engineer Wildfire. • Used Finite Element Analysis to analyze Stress at various parts. • Buy parts and assemble with corresponding Stress values from FEA. • Make minute changes with reference to Down-Force and Drag by tweaking Front and Rear wings. • Improve mileage by making changes to the engine such as Re-boring.
- Computer Aided Manufacturing
Responsibilities:
• Used Master-Cam in a wide range of Product Lifecycle Management. • 3D models of components generated in CAD software are used to generate CNC. code to drive numerical controlled machine tools. • Machining processes such as Roughing, Semi-Finishing, Finishing and Contour-Milling were performed.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Proden Industries April 2004 -- August 2004
- Design of Mechanical Components, Manufacturing Plant
Responsibilities:
• Production Supervisor. • QA management using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach • Responsible for daily production activities of Material Receiving. • Machining Operations, Welding Operations, and Facility Tool Room. • Design a complete revised layout for the Manufacturing plant. • Devise several production changes for the Manufacturing Processes. • Application of Six-Sigma. • Create new and improved version of current products (Lathes) using Pro-Engineer. • Instrumental in achieving ISO 9002 certification for organization.
Ashok Leyland August 2004 -- April 2005
- Automobile Manufacturing Plant, Engine - Research and Development
Responsibilities:
