United Commercial Bank is a leading financial services company catering to commercial, small business and retail clients the purpose of this project was to improve the unsatisfactory credit ap-praisal system in use to service the client's large portfolio. The system did not provide electronic ap-proval to end customers thus all the relevant transactions had to be processed manually leading to significantly decreased efficiency. The old system also could not support the different types of credit applications, which were submitted for processing, and this also affected overall service quality and internal process effectiveness. The client therefore decided to initiate a mission critical reengineer-ing of its appraisal system, with the objective of plugging all the gaps of the old system, and also creating better usability and portability.
