For Carlton I managed multiple enterprise level systems as well as provided end user support for several dozen clients, both onsite and remote. I developed custom reports for department heads, as well as provided ad-hoc data based on client requirements. Smooth and secure operation of the LAN/WAN was also my responsibility.

Career Highlights

2005: Oversaw the migration of Ecometry ERP system from legacy HP3000 platform to several Windows & SQL servers, working closely with the software vendor throughout. Virtually all software and hardware technologies in use changed, save for the insulated core business code. This was an effort lasting several months, with much inter-departmental cooperation in testing critical processes. In the weeks following launch, very few support cases related to the changeover were logged.

Also affected were many old static reports that no longer ran correctly, needed to be more flexible or were simply non existent in the new environment. These were recreated in Crystal Reports and tested extensively.

2008: Connected sister company Katysweet Confectioners into the main Carlton network by establishing a secure WAN using VPN tunneling This enabled better integration between the companies by making the full range of software and network services available in-house, eliminating a number of inefficient processes done previously by hand or over the phone.
