Business Situation: I was brought in fix the under-performing Salt Lake City distribution store in 2006. My mission was to analyze the business processes, identify key problems, propose solutions and implement the solutions. The final solution involved building and implementing a newly designed software system. I was the BA/Project manager for this project.

Business Situation: A database system was needed in order to organize and report on the relevant day to day business activities (ie. Sales Invoicing, Purchase Orders, customer information, production, Demo Program management, implement perpetual inventory system). In order to grow the number of stores, a robust system was needed that was user friendly as many of the 30+ employees were not computer savvy. The ability to provide timely reporting was crucial in order to analyze data for more informed and quality decisions.
Solution: The solution automated many of the day to day tasks in buying and store management. Databases for daily restrings, customer sales, ordering, demo program management enabled accurate meaningful reporting on every key activity in the business. Reports were accurate and a perpetual inventory system was introduced. Expansion with controlled growth was achieved. Regular customer communications through an email campaign using the customer lists maintained in the system resulted in sales growth of over 65% the first year and reducing marketing expenses (direct mail production costs and postage) by more than 70%.
