Built and expanded team from 15 to more than 100 geographically-dispersed team members sharing common vision and goals. Oversaw the establishment of offshore development centers in India and Ukraine to enhance product development while minimizing overall costs. Developed communication procedures and management infrastructure to support multi-site development.

Oversaw the evaluation for acquisition of numerous software companies to expand overall product offerings. Orchestrated the integration of 2 acquired development organizations and software into Mobius suite of products, providing cross-selling capability for both internal and acquired customer bases.

Established state-of-the-art Build and Testing facilities to support parallel development efforts and allow more than 10,000 nightly tests run against project builds, shared development builds, and release candidates. Facilities allowed the execution of test suites for up to 100 builds nightly from both local and remote locations, and the automatic detection and reporting of defects to development and management.

Drove the introduction and adoption of development methodologies across all teams, standardizing requirements, architecture, documentation, technologies, coding, review and testing procedures. Early adopters of support applications and use case methodologies.

Spearheaded the design, launch and migration of ViewDirect, the next generation of Infopac product offerings, from mainframe based to client-server, and subsequently multi-tier application.

Championed the development of Windows, UNIX and Linux versions of the ViewDirect server; and thick and thin client interfaces running on Windows, Apple, Linux and UNIX. The Mobius Universal Archive architecture and server transparency features allowed customers to utilize applications across multiple platforms, enhancing the migration of applications, data and end-users to their platform of choice.

Managed the redesign and integration of ViewDirect E-Mail Manager and ViewDirect Records Management from eManage (acquired company) into ViewDirect Repository.

Led the development of ViewDirect Report Manager and ViewDirect Image
manager, component of ViewDirect server to capture images and a multitude of reports.

Directed the development of ViewDirect for SAP Environments and ERP Interfaces, enabling the capture and archival of invoices, purchase orders, audit reports from SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Lawson and Siebel systems.

SENIOR DEVELOPER (1986 to 1990)
Recruited as the main Developer to oversee the continuous design and integration of new functionality, tools, and infrastructure into company's flagship product Infopac, a fully integrated report distribution facility.
Collaborated extensively with leadership and customers to define needs and implement effective solutions to support continued revenue and market growth. Built and led team of 4 in the full life cycle design, development, testing and release of new products and enhancements to existing products.

Selected accomplishments & solutions:

Solely responsible for developing multi-user TP Monitor that emulated CICS and allowed the Mobius CICS based viewing system to run without CICS, resulting in speeding installation timeframes and enhancing customer flexibility while also serving as the basis for on-line administration and client-server facilities.

Oversaw the subsequent development of Document Direct, a new viewing component for the system to allow users to view reports directly through a PC.

Designed screen definition facility to support the development of multi-user interactive screens within the product, reducing development time frame for creating new enhancements.

Managed the complete redesign of back-end architecture to support TCP/IP based client server architecture and enabling the rendering of reports with complex graphics.

Developed device independent architecture that allowed storing data on inexpensive media such as optical disks and tape libraries. These systems provided cost effective replacement of microfiche, decreasing retrieval from 2 weeks to real-time. Interfaces to IBM, Filetek and Kodak Optical Disk as well as SDK and IBM tape libraries were developed; and repositories in excess of 10 petabytes were built using these systems.
