UPGRADATION OF SMARTSTREAM RECONCILIATION SYSTEM, BARCLAYS BANK PLC, POOLE, UK (FEB 05 -- AUG 05)
Barclays Bank Plc is one of the leading banks in UK. Barclays uses the SMARTSTREAM system to reconcile foreign currency payments from and to its own branches and intermediary bank accounts globally (Nostro and Vostro accounts).
The project involved upgrading from the SMARTSTREAM system to Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM) system. The aim of this upgrade was to move from an older version of the system to the latest one, leveraging technology to improve operational efficiencies of the interbank reconciliation processes.
Activities in the capacity of a Business Analyst included:
• Business analysis to determine the impact of this upgrade to existing business processes.
• Developing test scenarios to test the upgrade
• Executing test cases and scripts using the Mercury test director suite of products

BUSINESS PROCESS OPTIMIZATION, BARCLAYS BANK PLC, POOLE, UK (AUG 04 -- JAN 05)
Barclays Bank Plc has a comprehensive Employee Relationship (ER) management system. This includes both an online portal and a response center. The ER management team is responsible for handling various queries from internal employees and providing resolutions.
The project involved analyzing how the response center handled various internal employee calls and opportunities to reduce the volumes of calls directed to the ER team.
Activities in the capacity of a Business Analyst included:
• Listening in on calls received by the response center.
• Statistical analysis of calls received -- categorization of calls, duration of calls, etc
• Analysis of call handling processes used by the response team.
