This project deals with Customer Records and Billing System East of AT&T. CRB maintains the Billing for the customers of Eastern region. CRB runs in an IBM mainframe (MVS) environment in the St. Louis Data Center. It runs on St. Louis SL04-ASYS, SL04BSYS & SL04-CSYS. The system is written in COBOL and uses IMS as well as some DB2 for database management. The CRB System uses Universal Service Orders as input.
CRB is responsible for the management of Retail and Resale customer's Wire line products and services and supports the billing of those customers by passing the recurring and non recurring charges related to the products and services on the customer's account to the Bill Formatting process. CRB passes information to all systems that need to know when changes have occurred on a customer's account.

The CRB system is a Batch processing system. The Market Area and Users are both located in Connecticut.
At&t's customer base comprises of Retail, Wholesale and Business. This is the maintenance, support and enhancement project. There are quarterly releases and off releases. There were two major releases for the second half of 2008. These are October release and the December off release.

CAFE (CABS Automated Front End) a Client Server Access Provisioning System is a re-engineered application of the existing SAFE (SOP Automated Front End) system. CABS is a Carrier Access Billing System. SAFE is the main frame based Access Provisioning System used by the NICS organizations (user organizations) to process Access Service Requests (ASRs) which are received from the access customers (AT & T, MCI, Sprint ). The SAFE archival process is one where all screens of SAFE mainframe system for each access service requests are screen scrapped into flat files to be written onto CD-ROMs.
