*Create new designs or edit and update existing layouts using InDesign or Quark XPress. Add graphics or format Curriculum Department files. Track and update files in different locations.
*Organize and preflight files for printers.
*Coordinate with print vendors how to prepare files for their machines, delivery of artwork and proof schedule. Manage timeline of due dates with Excel tracking spreadsheet. Make sure proofs are arriving on time and are checked thoroughly for mistakes. Update any files that need changes and let the printer know what needs to be fixed.
*Prepare specifications for the printer on how the file should be printed and any special instructions. Review their quotes and pass them on to Procurement.
*Manage, update, and track Kinko's DocStore files.
*Design templates for non-designers. Write and design instructions for using the design templates. Offer design support and tips for non-designers.
*Research new products and features to see if they will be useful to our department.
*Cleanup, organize and preflight old files from contracted designers. Create specification sheets for Procurement to get quotes from multiple vendors.
