PROJECTS
Wireless Research & Development - Unmanned Ground Vehicles, Pilgrim Technology LLC
Conducted research and development in a robotical environment in an attempt to improve latency and throughput issues commonly witnessed with current wireless applications.

Skills:
Mikrotik RouterBOARD, Mikrotik RouterOS, Ubiquiti Networks radios, OpenWrt

GoMiWiFi, Pilgrim Technology LLC
Designed and developed a venue-based, wireless hot spot solution that is deployed throughout the city of Midland, MI and MBS International Airport. System is a VMWare, multi-server solution with the incorporation of DD-WRT within the hot spot nodes. Hot spot nodes direct users to a captive portal where given options to purchase or sign in. Backend consists of a full-featured user management system, a web-based advertising system, and a hot spot monitoring and alert system.

Skills:
VMWare Server, Debian 4.0, Windows 2003, DD-WRT, PHP4, PHP5, MySQL 5.0, FreeRADIUS, Chillispot, PPTP, Apache-SSL, Apache2, Active Directory, DNS, SNMP, PPTP

Conditioned Based Maintenance (CBM), Pilgrim Technology LLC
Produced system that sent vehicle information from CAN and multiple analog sensors to a remote system over an encrypted FIPS 140-2 wireless connection. Client board was an x86 architecture that monitored and recorded sensors locally, and then uploaded to a remote server once within range.

Skills:
Windows CE 4.2, Windows XP Embedded, IIS 6.0, VB6, NI-DAQ, NI-CAN

Low Effort Wireless Installation, Air Advantage LLC
Developed an automated wireless installation program that is used in wireless ISP field antenna positioning and installation. Solution was developed to be deployed upon service technician's laptops and ran locally using XAMPP. This automation allowed technicians to visualize wireless signal strengths and setup equipment without needing internal knowledge of the modems and/or antennas.

Skills:
XAMPP, PHP, MySQL, SNMP

Mercury: Traffic Monitoring and Redistribution System, University of Michigan - Flint
Developed a client-server application on a university team of 5 members. Client system consisted of a GPS unit, cellular technology, and laptop (prototype version) which would be installed in a vehicle. This system polled GPS data (NMEA format) and periodically contacted a dialup FTP server via the cellular connection. The server would store the data to be later accessed via a web page. The web application converted user queries (roads/streets and cities) to GPS coordinates, and calculated current or historic traffic congestion given the type of query.

Skills:
IIS, ASP.NET, VB6, MySQL, RS-232, CSS, HTML, Waterfall Life Cycle Model
